How can I remove duplicates in Itunes 11?

Me too its gone....

I was wondering the same thing as well. Every time Apple decides to simplify something it always ends up making things more difficult.

Since iTunes 11 is fully cloud based maybe it does it auto. It knows its a dupe so it doesn't even bother showing it. Remember now all your music shows in your library. I am not sure just guessing .

read the review on cnet 🙂 i guess remember how before if you wanted to redownload songs you bought before, but didn't have them, you would go to itunes store, then hit "purchased" tab. Now supposently all stuff you ever purchased just shows up in your library with cloud icon next to it. kind of like match does for your entire library..

I'm not feeling itunes 11.

All you have to do is delete them. The same way you always delete songs from your library. But there is a catch. When you do that the songs will no longer be in the icloud purchased section. That means you cannot just go and easily download them again, which was what they feature was good for.

Nope, it shows all my duplicates. iTunes 11 have duplicated all my songs, i'm not using iTunes match and have nothing in the cloud.

If you delete one of them does it just put it in your trash BUT NOT remove it from your computer until you clean out your trash?

It's still on your computer. I didn't see it in the RB. If you need it again you can download it again for free, but you cannot go to the icloud Purchased section and do anymore. You have to search for the song in the itunes store and then re download it.

hmm was looking around and began wondering if now they have "duplicate" option only for match customers. I know match customers have it and it kicks ***.. soo much better then old "filter duplicates" Dunno just thinking...

You don't have to delete them. Go to Preferences >> Store >> Uncheck show itunes in icloud Purchases.

I have it unchecked and I still have all my songs duplicated.

Didn't work (but I left it unchecked anyway).

All of my duplicates are from CD's that I own and imported myself, not purchased through iTunes.

Hmm. Only the itunes purchased duplicates showed up in my library, not the music I imported. You're going to probably have to delete them.

Is it stuff you bought from itunes? If not you're going to have to delete them.
