Have they removed iTunes DJ from iTunes 11?

The iTunes DJ feature as it existed before is gone. In it's play is the "Up Next" feature where you can add tracks to be played. Sketchy information here:

Cheers. Yeah what a simple feature it was before and made so difficult now. The best I've managed to replicate it was by creating a smart playlist with all my 2*+ songs and then just playing that playlist randomly. I see you can still add a song not in the play list to upnext if you want then it returns to your playlist.

You can add any song to the Up Next list by clicking the arrow that will appear when you hover the cursor over the track name, wherever it appears, and choosing "Add to Up Next". You can even add an entire album to the Up Next list by the same arrow next to the album title. You can then view the Up Next list by pressing Command-Option-U or choosing it from the View menu and can drag tracks around as you like.
Perhaps those tips will make things easier.
Regards.
This happened to me, too. And yeah, Up Next is NOT a fix. I've used iTunes since the first version. This is a massive UI design FAILURE.
You can comment to Apple on the matter if you wish via their feedback page:
