Move column browser to left side vertically rather than on top horizontally?

Upgrades to itunes 11 and now I can't move the column browser to the left side like i did before i upgraded. Anyone find a fix or is it not possible? I don't want album artwork, just a scrollable list of artists. Thanks.

@chewie7213 I completely agree and I'm shocked that Apple still haven't addressed this issue. My work computer is running the latest version of iTunes but I point blank refuse to upgrade from iTunes 10 on my home computer until Apple fix this.

And now with the removal of the ability to shuffle a genre in the iOS7 music app it feels like Apple are losing the plot where their music apps are concerned.

Apple will never fix this. Doing so would be acknowledging that they f-ed up in the first place. And as we all know, Apple never makes mistakes, they know what is best for us all. The current implementation of this user interface is useless, but they don't care and won't listen to input from their users. What does that tell you about the current state of the company?

Forget my last comment about refusing to upgrade my home computer to iTunes 11. I upgraded my iPhone and iPad to iOS7 and I'm now unable to shufle a genre in the music app but to add insult to injury iTunes tells me that in order to sync the iPad and iPhone I need to updgrade to iTunes 11. 😠 I think I'm going to cry...😢 iOS and iTunes used to be fantastic but I think this is the straw that broke the camels back. Seriously thinking now about ditching Apple completely and going Andriod.

i know this is an old post, but this problem is still infuriating me. I was running snow leapord and IOS 5 up untill a month or two ago......i miss them soo much. The new itunes is terrible for people with large libraries. The collums on the top is really not good. and dont even get me started on how terrible the new music player on IOS 7 is. Way too many useless features, that do nothing but make it unorganized and a pain to navigate through.

I had an older Itunes (10.2) and an older Ipod Classic 160GB (the thicker one). It was stolen on Christmas night so I purchased a new 160GB and thought it would be simple as plugging it in to the computer. But the new Ipod required a minimum of 10.7 Itunes. The older Itunes wouldn't even see the upgrade server so I had to upgrade manually. Now I am stuck with this horrible interface. I have over 200GB of music and there is just so much wasted white space on this. But like someone else said, there is no way apple will ever admit they made a mistake. We are stuck with this.

Thanks. I have been looking in to doing that. I don't want to have to rebuild the database because I have over 200GB of music and only 160GB of space. I don't want to have to go through and unselect 40GB of music. But fortunately I make regular backups so my old 10.2 database file is still available. So I can just remove 11.x, install 10.7, then before I start Itunes manually restore the database file.
