#massivefail - you have rendered it useless. Such a waste of my time trying to figure out how you sabotaged this product. And I STILL can't get it to work for me. Totally ridiculous and alienating move. Very, very fruatrating.
iOS7 can't stand iTunes 10.x, you must go to 11.x
That is why I skip iOS7 till I have iPhone and iPad ..
Apple moved to wrong lane ..

Specifically, you need iTunes 11.1 or higher. 11.0.x is not good enough.
That's really bad news if it's true. That'll make me stick with iOS 6 on my iPhone and iPad.

It's easily confirmed by checking the iPhone 5S system requirements: iTunes 11.1 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
From the iPhone 5s Technical Specifications page.
Actually iTunes 7 deleted a bit of my library some years ago and I restored it several times before the behavior finally disappeared. I haven't had that problem since but iTunes likes to take control of your librray, unlike other music programs, and I'm not surprised that folks would have issues with songs mysteriously disappearing. The point is: backup and update it often.
As a matter of fact, I am able to sync iOS7 in iTunes 10.7. The procedure is rather slow, but it works. Don't attempt to update your phone's iOS via iTunes; do it internally in the phone (Settings>General>Software Update), then you can sync the phone in iTunes 10.7. I would like to know if the info here can be recreated, and not just particular to my situation.
I have dodged the iTunes 11 update once again. I know I will move up eventually...there's just a few more tweaks needed in version 11, and then I'll be content to update.
Well, it's nice to know that you can sync iOS 7 with iTunes 10.7. My syncing isn't what I'd call fast in iOS 6 via iTunes 10.7. Genius causes it to take more than twice as long.
Anyone else tried syncing iOS 7 using iTunes 10.7?
What device/model with iOS 7 did you sync with iTunes 10.7?
Oh yes, good point pgoodwin. I should have mentioned that I have an iPhone 4. I am *hoping* that the procedure also works with iPhone 5 models. I do not have an iPod model anymore so I cannot verify for them.
Okay, so I have tried to do exactly this, and I have now iPhone 4 running iOS7, plus iTunes 10.7 under Mountain Lion... and it won't sync either by USB or Wifi. It doesn't even show up in iTunes either way. Any advice? I like iOS 7 a lot but use iTunes DJ all the time and can't cope with the pish new Up Next thing!

The next thing is to upgrade to iTunes 11.1 or downgrade to iOS 6.1.4. I've linked the tutorial on how to do this, but it was nuked. Google will have to suffice there, sorry.
iTunes 10.7 supports iOS 6.1.4. iOS 7 requires iTunes 11.1 or higher. Best of luck with figuring out how you should best proceed.
I think I'll probably pop a new ML install on a thumbdrive and run 11.1 from that for sync/backup purposes. Permissions will be a pain, but nothing like the pain of losing basically the core of my iTunes functionality.
One more question. On your computer in iTunes, do you have "Back Up To iCloud" or "Back Up To This Computer" selected for your iPhone?
TP....did you sync using 10.7 using WiFi or the USB cable? And did you do anything other than plug it in (or choose Sync Now if you did it via WiFi)? Just wondering whether you had to do anything out of the ordinary to get iTunes 10.7 to sync your phone.
