This is the first thing I HATE that Apple has done. There are other annoying things going on like new iPads coming out twice in the same year, but switching iTunes to what is now is beyond greed, it's just stupidity. Everything is just becoming more and more trendy so the fellas with all the smarts have to make all these changes for job security. Hey smart guys who decided to **** up iTunes, you are ruining a brand people love for a reason. NOW CHANGE THE ******* ITUNES BACK TO SOMETHING THAT RESEMBLES THE PREVIOUS VERSION. (YES I AM SHOUTING AS LOUD AS I ******* CAN)

I downloaded the new itunes and I absolutely HATE it. It is much more difficult to use, confusing, ugly, does not flow or display the artwork which I loved except for a smaller than postage stamp graphic in the play window. I did no go thtough hours of making and placing art of each album and song just to hav it minimized down to almost nothing.

It takes three steps to make a new folder now, the lists are not shown and you have to search for movies, music, etc. This is the worst makeover of ANY mac program ever!  I strongly suggest that Macintosh rethink this disasterous design.

It *****. Apple, if your listening... THIS *****!!!

Oh yes, I most DEFINITELY HATE the new iTunes. Can someone recommend another player? I will be moving away from iTunes since I can't seem to uninstall the crappy update.

Does Apple bother to read the posts here? I don't know of ANYONE who likes the update.

Apple, your new iTunes is a major FAIL!

I'm feeling a little bit better since the update that came a few days later and let me search within my iPod, but the improvements still have a long way to go.

The sidebar is not the issue.  The issue is the reformatting and recategorizing of your music, including the database libraryfile, and the "new" inabiity to display or retrieve music that you spent HOURS if not DAYS entering into your library using the iTunes 10.7 formatting.  Look at the columns for which you now have information.  Notice a LOT of it missing?  Notice the "revert to columnar display" option that is no longer functional?  Absolutely unwarranted and unwanted reorganization of years of MY HARD WORK by Apple, whose developers apparently think they know more about my music than I do.

Anyone know of another DJ-quality archival/retrieval/cataloging software that is user friendly and will import my iTunes library so I can continue to create, export to an audio mixer, air and archive my playlists?

I can't speak to other solutions, but reverting to iTunes 10.7 is not at all difficult and should remain permanently usable for users on OS X 10.6.x, 10.7.x and 10.8.x. Its viability is questionable only on future releases of the OS. And, make no mistake, Apple pays particular attention to the iTunes version in the access metrics taken from the iTunes Store. If you revert, they'll know.

Personally, I think it sends a louder message to Apple to revert to the earlier version than it does to switch apps. They never get notification of the latter.

Thanks.  I did "revert".  I long ago gave up on getting music from iTunes.  The quality is not good enough for community radio broadcast.  I go to Amazon--it has better sound quality, more selection (especially world music and harder to find jazz/blues titles), and they don't mess with me using the downloaded and purchased MP3s.

Except that it doe s NOT have better sound quality. At 256kpbs, AAC and MP3 are close but AAC is still a bit more truer to the original.

and they don't mess with me using the downloaded and purchased MP3s.

    ???

    Neither does iTunes/Apple.

    Hello

Are you guys sending feedbacks to Apple? I've sent tons of feedbacks, but I really doubdt that is someone on the other end of the "line".

I've been using Mac/Apple stuff for 20 years (My first Mac was a Classic - in Brazil, in a time where ther's absolutely nothing/nowone to ask for help) and I never felt so hopeless after the DOWNGRADE to this CRAP called itunes 11

Apple thinks and treats us as iDiots

My faith is going down and down because I've believed that apple would restore the features very soon, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

    SHAME ON YOU APPLE!!

    Hi CKyaw,

I also have had my share of frustration from iTuens lately and was getting quite aggravated by the whole thing with APPLE not giving crap about our thoughts of frustrations until a friend told me about his moving away from APPLE to the new Windows 8, after spending some time with him on using windows 8 i turned around and bought my own computer with Windows 8 in in over the holidays and i'll tell you what....no more APPLE for me.

I"m from a houselhold with all Apple including 3 computers, at least 8 or 9 Ipod, 3 tablets and 2 apple tv....well no more of this starting today or should i say after Xmas.  I got fed up 5 years ago with HP and swore i would never have anohter HP in my house again and never did one come in and never will one come in, well after all my frustration with iTunes the same goes for APPLE now, no more APPLE will ever come in this household again.

APPLE you wanted to mess around with something that worked good for us and turn it into a pile of manure....well stay with your manure and i'll move on to bigger and better things.

From a user that is in the six figure income and middle age with lots of money for gadgets, sorry to say but you lost my pile of case to the competition.  consider this next when your stock goes down.....lol

I am just as angry as you are about the iTunes problem but no matter what computer system you buy, you will always have trouble as the companies don't consider what the users want. I switched from microsoft to Apple about 5 years ago because of constant calamities with windows. Until the disfunctional iTunes "update" I have not regretted it a bit. I've also had problems with HP, so I bought a Canon printer, which has been working really well until the ink started leaking. Canon does not help you either, the next repair shop is about  250 km away from where I live and the spare part I would need ist not produced anymore. They told me to buy a new printer! Not much of customer sevice.

I've still got a desktop microsoft computer because of some professional programmes that don't run on my MacBook. But the only advantage is, that it is cheaper.

So switching to windows 8 is'nt really a solution. At least Apple doesn't care.

    Hello Seagates

I agree totally with you! I am frustrated, because here in Brazil we have suffered so much to buy, use and have some kind of support. But all of these problems were compansated by the joy and easyness of using a Mac.

Now, I don't know what happended to apple because for some time I feel that the products are changing in a way that doen't sound like REAL apple.

I am on vacation, but on sunday, when I go back home, I will try to revert to the 10.7 version, which was great.

Happy new year, in spite of this mess that apple has made.
