No they didn't.

The Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Updates  are only ~ 8MB.

If you updated from the Softaware update/App store, you need to click ...More to the left of Update and expand the updates available,. Then you can select only what you want to update.

I've seen developers hire power users to play video games for weeks before launch so they can iron out the bugs and quirks.       Apple clearly didn't do this with iTunes 11.       There are fundamental quirks and flaws that making it very un-Mac like to any iTunes power user.

Examples:   you can't compare two playlists.       When you click "show in iTunes store" - there is no "back" button.       If you're trying to manage a large library, there's no way to preview the artwork of a selected song before committing to "get info".         

The dynamic playlist options and genius integration ARE really nice, and I'm sure Apple researched that.    But i honestly don't think they let users test drive the software long enough to flesh out flaws they will either have to address in future updates, or have the user base atropy as more appealing music management options manifest.

After using iTunes 11 for a month, I finally reverted back to 10.7, and it feels like a breath of fresh air.     I really hope I'll be able to switch back when crucial functionality is restored, because right now iTunes11 is focused on being a music player, not a library manger.

They may not have made changes you like but to say they did zero testing is simply incorrect.

anyone know if its possible to play a song in the middle of an album and then have it play the rest of the songs from there? I DONT MAKE PLAYLISTS so please dont suggest that. I merely want to be able to pick up where I left off in the event that I hjad toi close itunes etc  you can do this on the iphone. Yet another failing I guess

Click on the song and click Play. Make sure Shuffle is not On.

Shuffle can be on as long as the user has set Controls > Shuffle > By Album.

For the second time in the 6-7 years of being an Apple/Mac user I have been dissapointed and dismayed.  How could they possibly release this rubish.

Anyone else experiencing an issue where you (using the arrow key) want to move one song up or down only to find yourself having been moved to the top of your entire music library? 

Also, ratings have disappeared that were previously there, and moving songs into a playlist can be taksing, at best, at time.

I, too, will revert back to the last release.

Why, oh, why, did they "fix" something that worked so well.

I think it is not a question of being  'tested' or not, but of 'who' tested.

One of the main problems with iTunes has always been a slow performance with very large libraries. I think in their eagerness to make it all run faster, they stripped the application of everything what made it very usefull for a large community of musiclovers (pop, classical, jazz, occasional and semi-professional users, kids and granddads) in favor of a wide young and modern music loving public.

I think they made this version for a very specific segment of client, let's say the rock & pop lovers between 16 and 30 who are very active on social media forums and vent their wishes on facebook etc. These 'kids' probably tested the application and found it fantasmagorical! If they had just let someone who collects classical music test it, he'd have said it's rubbish compared to previous versions. On the other hand... who on earth erases the 'composer' column in the iStore for classical music? 

Our generation usually sits quiet if something goes well. But for designer companies like Apple it is just impossible 'not to change from while to while', so they come up with iTunes 11....

Fact is, it does have some nice features, but I would have preferred they had 'added' them to the existing application instead of just replacing stuff that worked well in the first place.

We can only hope a substantial iTunes 11.1 will emerge soon! The composer column should get back ASAP. It's a disgrace for Apple to have made that mistake!

"Composer" is a view option in iTunes 11.

As far as iTunes running slow, is there anything else that's faster if you're handing a very large library?   I only use iTunes for music, not video.  

In my opinion, when you don't hear complaints, it should mean that you have created/designed something right.

In this case, there are so many things wrong with this new iTunes that it outweighs any new added features.

Again, in my opinion, Apple is trying to add new features just for the sake of adding new features. Nothing to do with usability but more for a "WOW.." factor. It might have more features now, but overall it's a worse music player. I don't know anybody that has a mac computer, that uses iTunes for their video player. And for that reason, it goes to show you that when you try to make a program that "Does-it-all", the things that it does do well start to suffer.

Stop adding buttons! The fact that there is now a little button on the right hand side of the window to give me my mini-player is rediculous. The fact that I have to click another little button in a different location to maximize my player is rediculous. Why is Apple trying to junk up their interface with MORE BUTTONS!?!? The old three (Red, Yellow, Green) button for minimizing, maximizing, mini-player, etc.. work just fine and it's something we're all used to. Add MORE BUTTONS doesn't make anything easier.

Don't get me started on this new opposite diagonal button. WTH would any use that? I don't need iTunes to take over my desktop. It's not that great of a program. So again, we have ANOTHER BUTTON. Was the green button not good enough?

STOP ADDING BUTTONS!

I love apple! I've been a huge fan, but this new iTunes is abysmal!

Sorely disappointed.

Jesus. Even logging into this fourm was difficult. I was prompted for my password 4 different times, not because I was entereing it incorrectly, but because of 'security'. I have to say I am really losing my faith in Mac. If I had stocks I'd be unloading them with a swiftness.

I hope that Mac development is readign this and working on an 'update' similar to itunes 10.7. I don't have a time machine backup, so I'm guessing that downgrading isn't an option for me? I've read about the process with using pacifist... can you reinstall 10.7 this way if you don't have a  time machine backup?

I have to admit, it's a PITA to have to log in every time one returns to Discussions.  Heck, even E-bay keeps ya signed in for 24 hours.
