Re: How to insert and edit equations with Math Type in IBA?? in response to Steeve1200Do you have MathType installed? It is not provided by Apple, you have to get it yourself.
iBA 2 has some new features for math

Re: How to insert and edit equations with Math Type in IBA?? in response to Tom GeweckeTx Tom,
And do we have to install LaTeX or MathLM?
When i do Insert > Equation, it is very limited. Just a box where i can type normally...no suggestion for equation or fractions :(

Re: How to insert and edit equations with Math Type in IBA?? in response to Steeve1200Try typing some latex code like
\int_{10}^{10}x^2\,dx
in the box and export to .ibooks format and see how it looks on the iPad

Re: How to insert and edit equations with Math Type in IBA?? in response to Steeve1200PS I forgot, you don't have to export anything, you just type latex code in the box and it gets transformed right underneath and appears in final form in the text when you hit insert.

Re: How to insert and edit equations with Math Type in IBA?? in response to Tom GeweckeTx, i thought it would be easier to add math expression with IBA 2.0...
I will figure out, tx.
Best

Re: How to insert and edit equations with Math Type in IBA?? in response to Steeve1200We have an article that describes not only how to use MathType with iBooks Author (iBA), but also using LaTeX and MathML. http://www.dessci.com/en/support/mathtype/works_with.asp#!target=ibooks_author_m ac
It's important to note that no matter how you get equations into iBA, all equations are represented as MathML in the published iBook. (except, obviously I hope, equations that are simply images that you insert)
If you need more help, feel free to ask here.
