I have many Artists with many albums, hence it's a long way to scroll down to a certain album through all tracks.
I was so easy to select the artist first, then a certain album:
Is this still possible?

Yes, the UI is inconsistent. Pick songs view (which is the same as list view for all the other rmedia types).
You could try cmd + j 😉 maybe this helps
Agreed, this view is best if you have artists with many albums... Going to "song view" is a start, but I can't figure out how to get the "artist" and "albums" columns on the left (as you have pictured) rather than up top...
Anyone know how to do this???

No that's not what I mean, I'm talking about the browser columns, not the song info columns. look at the original posters pic -- See how the browser Artist and Album columns are on the left vertically... That's what I'm looking for. Currently the browser columns are up top with the songs below them on a split horizontal screen.
What's the difference between this image and the original poster? The artist and album are on the left.
One (original poster) shows a browser column, yours shows song info column.... In a browser, the artists name is only displayed once (not for each song) and when you select any particular artist, each of their albums are displayed in the next column. See attached image from iTunes 10..
I am totaly confused with this "Artist" Search thing.
I.E. I search for "Take That" <- Sorry for that 😉
iTunes show the Artist, 3 Album an 20 Titels.
But thats not correct. Take That is also in a Compilation in another Album.
Switch to the Titel View, I can see all of them.
Why are not all Songs of the Artists in the Search? And how can I fix this.
Change Album-Artist to Artist? But how?
