I really dislike iTunes 11. How do I revert to an earlier version?
I really dislike iTunes 11. How do I revert to the previous version (v10.6)?

Download iTunes 10.7 > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1576 Then, use Pacifist to install 10.7 > http://www.charlessoft.com/
Hahaha! Sorry, but if you had been reading all the posts by people demanding where their iTunes11 has been for the past month and trying to be the first to download and install you would find this amusing. 🙂

I always keep older copies of itunes these days mainly to ensure I've got something that will still work with AppleTV1. Downloaded 10.7 this morning again after seeing iTunes 11 was imminent.
Downloaded 11 just haven't installed it, though may give it a whirl later.

So did I, but... I still run iTunes 7.5. 🙂 I figured perhaps some day I might need iTunes 10.7 so I might as well archive a copy for the day when I get an Intel Mac and have an iPhone5 or something. 😉
The link to http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1576 won't let me download v10.7. It keeps redirecting me to v11 download page.
Looks like they've changed the page to redirect.
If lucky someone may post a more direct link if it's still on their servers.
Apple have the annoying habit of removing old software versions which can still be of benefit to those who need/want them. This is particularly a problem with iOS and OS X Ap Store apps where you can only get the existing version, so if you have older equipment which won't allow installation you have no way of getting an older version you may have once bought.

As Alley_Cat says which is why we downloaded copies this morning. 😟
Try: iTunes 10.7 for OS X http://appldnld.apple.com/iTunes10/041-7195.20120912.d3uzQ/iTunes10.7.dmg
I found this link for 10.7 - http://appldnld.apple.com/iTunes10/041-7195.20120912.d3uzQ/iTunes10.7.dmg
The burning question is how do you uninstall 11, while keeping your library information intact? You can't install 10.7 untill you uninstall 11 😠
Your library will remain intact but it is a good idea to backup before doing this kind of thing.
What you will have to do is rescue your old iTunes library from your Previous Libraries folder and rename it iTunes Library.itl because a newer version of iTunes irreversibly updates your library file.
In this I am presuming nothing radical has changed in how itunes works with library files. As I said, I still run iTunes 7.5 (yes, 7.5, not 10.7)
I'm just about to take the plunge so have created an archive of my existing iTunes folder. The media is all located separately on a different drive.

I did as you said and was able to rescue my library, however, iTunes keeps telling me to connect all my iPhones and iPads and restore them to factory default 😟 What a pain! I don't trust Apple any more! Microsoft burned me in the past, now Apple! 😠
I found a solution to this, you have to delete a file called iTunesCDB off the device (no you don't need to be jailbroken to be able to do this). I used ifunbox app based on a post I found that recommended it. After I deleted that file, iTunes 10.7 was able to see my iPad again.
if you use ifunbox, it is under "raw filesystem" /iTunes_Control/iTunes/ and the file name is "iTunesCDB"
Deleting the iTunes CDB file worked, thanks!!! The only other lingering issue is getting remote working, keeps saying the remote was unregistered...
So I was pi**ed that they removed the Album Art preview. I decided to downgrade. I renamed my iTunes folder within ~/Music. After deleting the 11 .app, I installed 10.7. I ran it and everything seemed fine. It was empty, of course. So I drag and drop all my files over from the old iTunes folder, except iTunes Library.itl. I copied the old one from the Previous folder, renamed it, and started iTunes. Everything looked as it was, even the window was resized like I had it -- but I had a popup window.
"An unknown error occured -42408"
I tried every single solution I could find on the internet and none of them helped it. I work in IT for a living so believe me when I say I tried everything. The only other solutions were upgrade iTunes (lol) or do a full Time Machine restore. I don't feel like restoring my entire computer tonight, so I decided to suck it up and reinstall iTunes 11.
What a ******* nightmare. I can't believe Apple would remove such useful features and not even give you the option to put them back. I guarantee you won't get them back, either. Apple doesn't have a great history of taking stuff away and giving it back. Really regretting my decision to try it out.
Oh yeah, and I had to fix my iPad with the fix provided above. Didn't help my error though. I couldn't authorize or deauthorize my computer. I want to see if I can deauthorize it with iTunes 11 and then try it with 10.7 but I've already messed around with it enough. I just want to have a good night. This pretty much wrecked it.

Thanks for expressing my exact feelings about iTunes 11. My blood has been boiling all day trying to rid of thing and go back to the last version. They totally destroyed the mini player. It will not update tunes when listening to radio. Plus, you have to tab through the controls to get to the info. It won't scroll tune names and the window won't open enough to show the full title of many tunes while streaming radio. All and all a huge step backwards for iTunes. Apple's fanatical quest to "simplify" is turning into a nightmare.
