iTunes 11 wifi sync will not recognize my iPad 2 and iPhone 4 running iOS 6

I did these things and my wireless iTunes sync is still not working. My Apple TV can't detect my itunes music as well. Nothing has woked since 10.07.

i have the same problem. in itunes 10 i would set my iphone up to wifi sync every night when i plug in before i go to sleep and it would sync, itunes 11 it dose nothing. the old itunes 10 would up my iphone instently when i plug it in but not 11, i am running on a 64 bit windows 7 laptop and 64 bit itunes. i also have the last ipod to come out befor they switch to the lighting plug an it dose not sync over wif eather apple if yos u see these posts can u help u fix the poblem i hate that u can no longer sync over wifi but u show the same settings for it as itunes 10

Came across this thread when I was having similar issues.

I fixed it by clicking on the WiFi icon in the top bar (on a Mac), turning off Wifi (while iTunes 11 was open and the iPhone was connected to the same WiFi network and plugged into the charger), and reenabled WiFi. Once my Mac had connected, it reognised my iPhone and started syncing over WiFi.

I'm not sure if this works in Windows, but this worked for my on my iMac running OS X Mountain Lion. Hope this helps! 😀

The problem with turning on/off wifi is that you have to do it every time you reboot. It doesn't fix the issue.

I followed the exact same steps as you, however upon pulling the cable out of my phone after the sync finished the iphone icon in the upper right disappeared. When I tried to sync over wifi from my phone it couldn't find my map.

Is there anything else you think you did?

Seems you are right. iTunes wouldn't recognise my iPhone after restarting my Mac. Had to reenable WiFi to get it to work again. Oh well, this'll have to do for the time being.

No problems! I figured doing something with the WiFi on either my iPhone or Mac would get it to sync. Yeah, I'd expected it to work straightaway, but oh well. Maybe it'll be officially fixed in a future update.

These steps worked for me:

1. Disable wifi sync and save.

2. Disconnect the device, close iTunes and Restart the computer.

3. Connect the device, open iTunes and enable wifi sync.

4. Disconnect the device, close iTunes and Restart again.

5. Open iTunes and the device should be already detected.

I have tried all the suggestions above, none of them worked for me. Very frustrating. The wifi sync worked fine for my ipad 3 and iphone 5 very well till I updated to iturn 11.0 last night. Big mistake! I really wish there is a way to fix it.

I just updated to iTunes 11 and ran into this same problem...

I plugged the ipad2 into my iMac

Went to the Summary page and un-checked the "Sync with this iPad over Wi-Fi" box, then clicked Apply

Check "Sync with this iPad over Wi-Fi" and Apply

now iTunes11 recognizes both my iPod Touch 4 gen and my wifes iPad2 over WiFi

I also don't click the eject button next to the device when unplugging the USB

Okay this seems to have worked for me...but seeing all the different ways to fix this issue, it may not work for all.

I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the heck was going on and why ONLY my iPad 3 was showing up in the devices tab.

After reading these posts I saw "home share" mentioned and decided to just access my home share library from the iphone music player...VOILA! iTunes is now showing my iPhone as connected. I have a feeling I'm going to have to do this every time because I still get that stupid "verify account" issue every time iTunes opens. Thought this update would have killed that.

Anyway, hope this works for some of you, if not all. Cheers!

No idea why, but my iMac is now detecting my iPhone and syncing over WiFi as it always used to before. Don't think I changed anything, just works.
