ive updated from final cut to 10.0.6. now it says it wont save changes and when i try to export it doesnt seem to do anything...can anyone help. the geniuses at the macstore cannot help as they are not trained on pro apps despite the fact that they deliver training and it was the trainer who advised me to upgrade it.
is it possible to go back to the old version

You can roll it back if you backed it up per these instructions. Also, Time Machine should do it.
But before you give up on it, I'd try trashing preferences. If that doesn't work, uninstall and download the app again and repair permissions.

When you export (Share in Applespeak) it doesn't seem to do anything but if you look at the progressmonitor in the center of the screen , you will see it counting. Sometimes very slowly.
If you click on the round progress metre in the middle of the screen it will call a more detailed view. HUD.
