iTunes 11 – Transfer songs from playlists to iDevice

Is there a way to copy songs from playlists (iTunes 11) to my iPod/ iPhone?

I’m a playlist power user and I’m used to transfer certain songs/ collection to my iPhone. Now in iTunes 11 I grab the songs but the slide-in menu doesn’t appear. Instead I’ve to go to 'Albums' oder 'Songs' to copy the title over to iPhone.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Ok. There is a way. Shortcut alt+cmd+S to show sidebar. With this kind of view, without the new interface, it’s possible to drag and drop songs from playlists to iPod, iPhone whatever.

Hey Apple guys, I really like iTunes 11 but add the drag and drop feature (slide-in menü) to the new 'normal' playlist view.

Just one day I would like to see a functional update of iTunes. For so long I have been a playlist power user. I don't like using "Albums" since a lot of my songs are mixes and trance from various albums.

I create playlists such as "workout mix", "gaming mix", "Driving mix", "great singles", etc. To have to go through the album to drag any of the above songs into the playlist would be tiresome and inconvenient.

Why, WHY has apple not desgined a simple "Right Click" or "Mouse Click" option when you click on a playlist, maybe...oh...I don't know..."Send to iPod"? How hard would that be? That would save me tons of headaches.

And before anyone says anything, I have done the "Sync iPod to my iTunes library automatically" before, where it syncs all my playlists. Funny thing, I don't only use one computer to manage / listen to music.

I understand Apple underhandely tries to alienate the Windows community, but seriously, there is no short cut for conveneince, just stop making me jump through hoops to transfer my 100+ playlists to my iPod.

My O/S = Windows 7 Pro.

To view the side bar:

Ctrl S or

Ctrl B - this will bring up the menu bar then select View / Show Sidebar.

To manually manage your playlists.

1) Connect your iPhone to your PC.

2) Click on the iPhone button top right of the screen (next to the iTune Store button). Don't click on the up arrow.

3) The "On This iPhone" button is highlighted. Click on "Add To ..." which is off to the right under the "Done" button.

4) Click on the "Playlist" button.

5) Drag and Drop your playlist.

6) Click on "Done"

7) This brings you back to you iPhone music screen. - Click on "Done" to get back to iTunes.
