Q: iTunes 11: No more album art preview for selected track??? :(

I still think not being able to have multiple windows open is a huge step backwards!!!

Yes, you can highlight twenty tracks or albums - then press command-i and drag your album image into the artwork box.

yes we know that, the question is how to add multiple pieces of artwork to multiple tracks at the same time.

I'd like to suggest, as others have previously on this thread that people post complaints to Apple. They may not be keen to listen to the minions who pay their salaries, but maybe they might suffocate under the weight of complaints.........www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html http://

One voice is a whimper, many together can overhaul governments, so surely Apple can be forced to listen to it's CUSTOMERS!!! Yes Apple remember the old addage....THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT, CLEARLY NOT IN YOU OPINION...APPLE IS ALWAYS RIGHT AS YOU WILL LEARN TO LIVE WITH ?????

Mine always has something playing in it up there in that menu bar. How do you hit "Stop" to be able to do that? Mine always has the last thing I played up there. (And don't tell me I have to close iTunes and restart it every time.)

Okay I am now somewhat forgiving of Apple for the changes to itunes 11.  I HATE change but here is what I figured out how to accomplish:

Add art work to single/multible tracks at the same time. 

In list view Highlight the tracks you wish to add art work to, drag art work > Get Info > will ask "do you want to edit info for multible tracks" ? YES > Click art work tab > drag and drop art work and save.

OR

Go to album view and click on the album you wish add art work. Drag art work to the top grey status bar and you will see a blue outline appear then drop the art work over the little box where it would normally show. After I do that for some I have to click on the small art work box for it to appear.  I did notice if there is existing art work you wish to change you need to use get info > edit and delete the old art work.

To view in list/song view with art work on the side

Go to prefernces >general and uncheck use large text. Go to Artist view > view > options > check group compulations.  then clik on all artists and all you music will appear in list view  with the art work on the left This is great for me as I recognize my music by art work not title, artist, ect..  Wish I could do additional sorts/see info in this view such as date added, BPM, last played ect.

View the small icon art work icon at the bottom left

Just click the icon in the upper grey box and it will open and change as the tracks change.. you can even control < or > or pause from this art work box.

I never liked cover flow.. was too cumbersom looking for a track, like flipping through book trying to find a random word.

I am starting to think the issue lies more with educationg the customer rather then changes to the product. Perhaps a tutioral video showing what changes were made and how to accomplish with the upgrade.  Let me just close by saying I totally understand how consumers like what they like and I am in no way undermining peoples opinion of what works for them. I just wanted to share what I discovered... a few weeks ago i was ready to throw my MAC out the window.. Now I am back to where was... well 98% at least.

this is funny, at my Mac this was the setting by default, after upgrading. Maybe some here complain about things I could not see, because at my computer it did out of the blue

There is one other point I found out after some are still complaining that drag and drop did not work! The aspect ratio of a cover should be correct, otherwise it may not work.But this should not be a problem most of the times

The main complaint is there is still no way to see large album artwork in "song" view!!!!!!

I HAVE to use song view for my library.  And I want album artwork!!!

Opening the artwork in the separate window DOES NOT WORK as I have said about 4 times now, because it opens in the movie window, so everytime you watch a movie it gets moved and resized and you have to configure it all over again.  That is not a workable solution for me.  It just winds up closed as it makes for way too much work both for watching movies, and for reconfiguring the window everytime.

true!  Off the top of my head I can't remmber the aspect ration. but i create my missing art work in photoshop so can mak the proper adjustments.  I first tested this with a ranom photo and it was added just fine.  did you notice in album view when you have the titles listed and the art work shows Itunes filled the rest of the window with the primary color ? LOVE it

I have read your post. This is the only thing which is gone, as I wrote severall times.

Most of your complains are not true, but you did not use your brain! (To speak with your words)

You got several hints to solve most of YOUR problem.

All the stuff you ar missing - use YOUR brain and send feedback to Apple.

I am only a user who wants to help other user to work out some new stuff or different procedures in iTunes 11.

You and some other here who mean they ar a mass, should think about iTunes is downloaded millions of times. Due to the fact that, maybe thousand 'special' users, don't like the new iTunes are the majority is IMHO a little too much.

It seems to be you are like a little kid get lost his lollipop! Wake up!

So if you need help, and some other users like me can help you with this, take it or be quiet!

We can not solve ALL of YOUR special problem, use feedback to Apple.

why do you find it necessary to be demeaning to other posters?

we didn't want you to point out that MOST of our problems are solved when the part that ISN'T solved is the part the entire thread is about...

as for the "majority" trust me, this is a pretty strong voice - given how rarely people will take the time and effort to look for such a thread as his and then respond to it.
