Q: iTunes 11: No more album art preview for selected track??? :(

Jan 8, 2013 7:26 AMby Steve Compton,I also can't live without column browser. Almost every day I need to sort by something other than artist or album. In the past month, I've sorted by composer, plays, last played, comments, disc, track, and date added. Having to switch views to sort is stupid.
I don't use the artwork at the bottom of the side bar to add art to a track, but I do use it to see if the selected track has the correct artwork. Get Info doesn't work for me for that. It's much easier to see subtle changes in artwork when it changes in the side bar.
Another idiotic feature is that Show in Playlist is only available when the sidebar is closed. That makes no sense at all to me. It went from two clicks in the same area of the screen to four clicks in different areas of the screen. I would love to know the reasoning behind this because it required more work on the coder's part to do this than to always have Show in Playlist in the context menu.
Making the look and feel closer to the iOS music app is not something I like. I dislike the iOS app so much that after playing with it for a week, I decided my iPhone wasn't workable as a music player.
A year ago, I bought a Mac Mini to use just as a music player. I'm now regretting this because I foresee a time when I'll be forced to either upgrade to iTunes 11, which I don't see doing, or switching to a Windows based music mananger like JRiver or Media Monkey. I have no reason to own a Mac other than for playing music since I use quite a few apps that only run on Windows. The direction iTunes is going means I'll probably never buy another Mac.
I see iTunes 11 to be Apple's equivelent of Windows 8 Metro interface. Dumbed down and something only fan boys or non power users can love.

For example, I had Pat Benetar that came out of the store and when the albumn art couldn't be found, I then realized that it should be Pat BenAtar not BenEtar. Fixing this in the music list manually solved the problem.
I found this type of error to be uncomfortably more common than expected. I fixed about 95% of my album art entries by just putting in the exact information that should have been there to begin with.

Jan 15, 2013 2:50 AMby Bruiser_Burns,I Hate the New iTunes as well, i like to get artwork for each track that i have over the years, i have gone and got individual artwork for each track of a album that i imported or brought. when i played a cd in the past i looked at the album cover as i played the album serously iTunes for the people that brought Cd Singles and CD Albums in the 90's before iTunes Bring Back the Art Viewer Please

When you write "i like to get artwork for each track...," what do you mean by that? Please give me an example of an album where there is individual (unique) artwork for each track - which is what I think you mean?

But for example, since you asked for one, the Gorillaz have unique artwork for each track at least on Demon Days and the newer album. Pretty sure what this guy initially meant was putting the album cover on each track from their respective album(s). That would be the more logical conclusion/assumption as to what he meant.

The error on on the missspelling of Pat Benetar and other artists is (most Likely) error on record label. They upload the data, music to I-Tunes. But I'm glad you were able to get your artwork in the end.

Jan 15, 2013 8:17 AMby Eddie Strauss,I add artwork to an individual track of an album. Select one track. Open the Get Info. Go all the way to the far right tab that probably says Artwork. Open that and paste in what you like. It will stick to that track only.
I usually have the same graphic for the whole album. But I can add individual graphics separately to add to the first. If I use the first track and put the new artwork on the Left side, then that will become the signature artwork inside the Album and other Views.

Jan 15, 2013 8:25 AMby ichat36,Speaking of art work who here makes their own for missing art work? Do you use photoshop? Do you make cover art? I purchase/grab images off google, add the title and so on .. as creative in the appearance as possible. Or I'll try to recreate it as closely as possible.
