The problem is that you  aren't able to comprehend the problem we are discussing, so you keep posting the same workaround that completely miss the point, even though I have repeated it over and over and over again.  And you've been condescending from the beginning about how other people use itunes.

This thread is about album artwork in SONG VIEW!!!!

Why don't you create your own thread about how perfect album view is and leave us alone.

No the issue is that while this update affected countless people you seem to think you are the only one. What part of this is an open forum are you so selfish to assume no one else will benefit from it? OMG what is wrong with you?  What part of this are you not understanding..."If my suggestions do not help you it may help someone else".. You are so rude and wonder why this turned into a rant.. the sooner you stop harassing me the sooner the personal rant will stop.  if you want to complain about itunes as product go to the feedback page, if you want to get into a personal attack against me I wil contine to embarrass.

Have you guys thought of taking this back and forth to email? ;-)

he has the wrong one to have a intenet forum aggument with.... all he has to do is ignore me if I answer a post... I have never replied to any of his comments after he got rude the first time.  The only time I acknowledge him is when he attacks me because he does not like what I say.  The sooner he, you and everone else stops the sooner we can move on.  if him or anyone else is any part of rude or attacking when I offer a suggestion I will call them out for it and we can start the cycle over again.  A simple Thanks Ichat will eliminate all this drama

iTunes11 debuted with no way to "show duplicates".    Outcry ensued, now it's back.    That's what I'm hoping will be the case for viewing album art in the sidebar under "Song View".

My position (along with many others here) are that the way iTunes 10 and earlier handled album art worked perfectly, and enabled us to manage and enjoy our library of music.   We would like these features restored.     The ******* match here is pointless.     I'm not interested in migrating to another platform, I'm hoping Apple will see fit to recognize that removing "album art preview for selected track" unfairly burdens many longtime Apple loyalists and restore the feature in a future update.

I don't need to be told about workarounds, I'm already familiar with them all.    As computers get faster and software gets robust, it's odd how the workflow slows down.  It should not be easier to manage our libraries on older versions of iTunes software, but right now that's the case.

You may be familiar with the work around's but SOMEONE ELSE may not be.  This comment by you is exactly the BS that warrents my consistant replies. Stop making reference to this and I will stop with the replies and we can move on. OKAY?

It seems that some people who were initially furious with the removal of album covers have now come to terms with it or have found some second-rate workaround.  I have not, and will not, because why should I?  They randomly took away a feature, for no reason.  I will  keep complaining until they do something about it.

Album covers were not removed.. I'm looking at 3k + right now with the average of 4-8 tracks that accompany each of them so called missing album covers.

"Second Rate work around"?  That is such a rude thing to say.. Another example of an obnoxious, rude, unappreciative fan boy clogging the forum with unappreciative comments. It may be second rate to you but to someone else it may be helpful.. if you are that unhappy start a online community to boycott Apple products. Your comment was fine until you had to be rude.. But that was to be expected. and so I call someone out once again.

    Facepalm.

Once again, we are talking about SONG VIEW.

I'm amused at the hysteria over the loss of the album art in the lower left window, in that it has somehow crippled the user's comprehension and ability to remember the name of artists, albums, songs etc. I find this thread entertaining and stimulating - so please keep it going

In response to the question about my library size and what device I use to manage - in reality I have about 6K of songs and I use multiple devices to manage playlists depending on what device I am using. I have a Mac Mini as a central media server, Apple TV, MacBook Pro, iMac, a Dell XPS All-In-One and a couple iPads. My wife has an iPhone 5 and I have an iPod Classic and a Samsung Note II. My two daughters have Macbooks, the elder has a Pro and the younger one has the Air and an Amazon Kindle. Our whole family is always buying music on iTunes and me the same - we have CD's too, that we import. We have iTunes Match. I love Apple, but I also like Microsoft and I like Android. I don't have any allegiance with a particular supplier of technology.

I don't really do that much managing, because when I import music, I make sure it's correct, so no further tweaking of the metadata is necessary. So I don't find myself continuously managing the music, because there is nothing to manage, other than playlists. I'm not an improvisational "house music" DJ either, so usually when we have parties, we create the playlists beforehand. Album artwork is certainly enjoyable to view, but I don't feel that ability has been lost with the new version of iTunes. I also consider myself to be flexible, adaptable and open to new ideas and ways of thinking. I welcome changes in software, because I know there are people that are smarter than me designing this stuff - and I enjoy their creativity.

These are the same people that disabled Find Exact Duplicates.

I forgot to mention, I use SuperSync to identify duplicates in any of our libraries.

How is simply removing album art from song/list view "creative"?  It's idiotic.  It's a decision made by a marketing team, rather than a UI team.  It's a decisoin that goes against everything Apple used to be about.

  • aquadogusa Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

In this thread, we are, and have always been, talking about the album cover at the bottom left window.  That has been removed, has it not?

In losing that window, people have tried to justify clicking on the tiny album cover and making a larger version pop up as a workaround.  That is not the same.  It is a second-rate solution, because it is not the best way to display album cover, which was the way we had before.  How is this rude?

I am not a fan boy of anything.  I appreciate good products, and the new itunes is not a good product.  If that makes me unappreciative, so be it.

  • ichat36 Level 1 Level 1 (0 points)

You do not have to appreciate the changes to i-tunes because I sure do not so I agree with you on that 100%.. But at least show some appreciation good or bad if someone offers some help even if its not what you need to hear. This is not helping anyone and the faster people lose the attitude the faster this stupid bitter chatter will go away.  PEACE!

  • verbcrunch Level 1 Level 1 (35 points)

I only switched to iTunes 11 because I really like the dynamic playlist features.     But after assembling a few podcasts using music from iTunes I realized how obtuse removing the album cover in the bottom left window was.

Sort of wishing I stuck with iTunes 10.7.

Multiple windows are also gone, along with import and convert  (when you held down the "option" key on "convert to (mp3)" you could navigate to a folder of WAV or AIFF files and add them as mp3's.    This is now gone as well.  These were hidden features, they didn't detract from anyone's user experience, there was no reason to remove them.

But restoring the artwork interface is the most urgent issue that needs addressing.
