iphone 5 headphones are already broken! Anyone else experiencing problems?!

My headphones that came with the iphone 5 are already broken! The volume is very low than when I first bought it and I haven't even used it that much or tangled them etc. Has anyone else experienced this? I am extremely disappointed as I travel and so like listening to music when commuting but now I can hear all the noises because the volume is so low. Is it a technical hitch that happening to other people or is it just my headphones?
