Just use the Feedback option in iTunes and write Apple directly about missing Cover Flow, they have to hear the customer feedback and bring back Cover Flow.

Itunes 11 is a crock of ***** that looks more like Excel than a music player... I have had macs since 1990 and started my music collection on Sound Jam MP the orignal of iTunes.. the column browser feature no longer syncs to the searches in the search bar, instead gives you a list of suggested answer which is not what i wanted what i wanted was a table of possible songs i could then by column sort as I browsed... eh I type in 'star' I am looking for music to go with a star project... it should list me songs albums and artists featuring the name star ... instead i get a tatty list of best guesses as crap as the Genius facility has only ever been... sort by last played... today is the 7th i have been playing music continuously for the last 2 days it lists only 2 songs played on the 6th... which brings me to iTunes DJ which was one of the best ever iTunes features when combined with cover flow all i had to do was to use my iphone remote to add music and if i wanted more info on what had played was playing or what was to come a quick squint across the room told me and i could quickly find out more of the list if i needed....

then there is tv shows i have 600 shows i used to view the list of shows and see the episodes listed alongside and could scan for something to watch or load onto the iphone... what i want is a list with a thumbnail for a show.. just like itunes 10 did it... and whoa dont let me go onto podcasts... If you think itunes 11 is a step forward you cant use it much or have used 10 to any great extent.. without Jobs Apple on back in the Gil Amelio days heading in a downwards spiral.... and I'm not holding my breath waiting for Jobs to come back to save the world this time.

I was reading some articles on iTunes 11 and came up on this website by Walt Mossberg from

Quote: "The long-touted Cover Flow carousel of album covers has been dumped. The company says it found too few users considered it useful."

Just how is Apple obtaining this information without my knowledge???  Just how many is "few users"?  I'm already mystified by the exclusion of Cover Flow and more then likely Apple WILL NOT put Cover Flow back so I will stick to 10.7 indefinitely.

I wrote Walt in reply 3 days ago. He has received my email it and replied briefly, thanking me. I wrote about it extensively on this thread, but the powers that be at Apple deleted the post. They said:

"Apple removed your post, titled "Re: Is cover flow gone in iTunes 11?" because it contained the following:

    Speculation or Rumors

    Non-constructive rants or complaints"

Let me state categorically that my post was very constructive and useful to this thread, and contained none of the above.

I have been an Apple fan since the late 70's.  The iPod and iTunes were a crowning king of all music players.  But now Apple is slipping, deleting beloved features and useful functionality.  I am so glad I did not update iTune to 11 and still have all my songs, search features, lists, and cover flow.  I clearly remember Steve Job's pride and joy at showing off Cover Flow.  The loss of thorough intuitive and delightfully useful capabilities is depressing.   To take an excellent product and deliberately make it worse is not a good sign.

BRING BACK COVERFLOW!!! I also spent days locating the cover albums for all of my music. please please please bring it back. It's so disappointing that the new ITunes doesn't have it.

haha...Apple hates when they screw up and people voice their opinion about it. Just look what happened when they made the brilliant move of dropping Google maps.

Oh and yet another annoying thing.

I download TV programmes from BBC iPlayer and then use Handbrake to convert them into a format my Apple TV can play. Until this woeful update they would always appear in 'My movies'. Now they don't appear at all!

The reason? iTunes 11 classes them as 'Home video' by default. Even changing that doesn't sort the problem though. You have to restart iTunes to get it to update.

This really is an ill-thought out piece of software. Any confidence in any software update from Apple is now severely diminished. It reminds me of the 'Panther debacle.

Coverflow (or something like it) NEEDS to return.  I am adding my voice to all of the others calling for it.

Just give me a way to see the album art and the artist/album/track info ocross the room as my music is playing!!!

  • wvtrigeek Level 1 Level 1

    Bring back cover flow!!!!!

  • arik3 Level 1 Level 1

    A reminder for Apple:

The problem is, Oily, users with Apple devices will eventually be forced to upgrade or their devices will no longer sync/work correctly at some point in the future.

I will stay with 10.7 as long as I can, but this s*cks.

  • steppenforelle Level 1 Level 1

You're right, I fear. Apparently Cupertino's gone from "We've decided to take the road of more promising technology (sorry, PowerPC users)" to "buy or die (sorry, non-Centurion Card users)"... I'm pretty much seeing myself looking for alternatives for my Pods - and they were the only Apple hardware that ever got me going "Wow, that's cool"...

  • gaddsticks Level 1 Level 1

The way i see it, i will just jailbreak my phone and keep 10.7 forever.
