Q: How do I downgrade from iTunes 11 to iTunes 10.7?

downgrading is not supposed by apple, but if you would like to see it added as a feature, feel free to submit feedback at apple.com/feedback

well, it may be a preference to you, but it does not mean Apple allows it.

First link is 64bit, second is x86(32).

If you completely uninstall iTunes, then download and install one of those files, it should install them.

It may though constantly tell you there is an update available.

If they don't work, as Appletini6 said, leave feedback for apple.

I'm totally agree with you, I hate this new update! I like to see my albums with the artwork at the left and also in manual order... now this is not an option!??

I feel stupid and lost in my own library wich I worked hard to organize everything...

I agree I want to downgrade too, iTunes 11 is horrible.  The layout in the store is unusable.  I can't sort song lists in the store anymore?  It's also so slow as compared to 10.7.  Steve's turning over in his grave.  They have to redo this.  I'm downgrading now.  Thanks for the instructions.

If you do this and right before you start the old itunes version follow these instructions you'll do awesome

The problem with dowgrading to an Older version is always that Apple can force to have people use this new version for the Store, or for newer Hardware (iPhone 6 ???) and thus disabling access for older version, if that is the case you have to upgrade then if you still want to buy Music, Apps etc or even manage your (newer) devices....

But in the mean time that's not the case, so happy downgrading

I had the same sort of issues with the new iTunes but was able to successfully downgrade to 10.7 and keep all of my playlists, settings, etc. by:

First deleting the iTunes 11 application and replacing it with this one...

Ty for the info, I agree Itunes 11 is so horribly bad it is downright sickening. Who came up with the idea for axing the dj function btw ...

I agree, wish I didn't blindly upgrade.  If Apple is going to force everyone to use 11 then they NEED to give users the option for the views we are used to seeing for the past several years.  I really can't stand looking at the interface.  This is like Microsoft upgrading Windows and Office and for some unknown reason making it more difficult to use than ever.  Apple, do not become Microsoft!

Wranglor, it didn't work for me.  Says it can't open the library because it was created with a newer version. 

To fix this you have to go into C:/Users/Username/My Music/iTunes

You won't see the iTunes folder there unless you enable "Show hidden files, folders and drives", to do this go to 'Organize' -> 'Folder and search options' -> Click the 'View' tab -> Check 'Show hidden files, folders, and drives -> Click 'OK'

Your iTunes folder should now be visible in, go into it and you'll see 'iTunes Library.itl', delete that file then go into the 'Previous iTunes Libraries' folder and your last music library for iTunes 10.7 will be the one that is labled 'iTunes Library 2012-11-30.itl', the date is when you updated to iTunes 11, I'm going to assume it was today.

Copy the 'iTunes Library 2012-11-30.itl' file into the 'iTunes' folder and rename it to 'iTunes Library.itl'

If you haven't already, install iTunes 10.7 again and BOOM, you have the much better iTunes version back!
