Hi all, everytime I log on my desktop image reverts to a previous one I've used. It won't stay on the one I've selected. I've checked it's not set to change every 30 minutes. Is there something I'm missing here, as this just appears to be a glitch?
MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
FINDER>HOUSE ICON>LIBRARY>PREFERENCES and put into trash 'com.apple.desktop.plist'. Then restart your MBP. See if that solves the problem.

Thanks guys, but when I go to Finder, I have no "House Icon", I can't see the library or preferences either. I've tried searching in the finder for .plist files etc, but no joy.
Can anyone explain further?
This is a snapshot of my Finder. Note on the sidebar the House Icon with my name blotted out. Can you find yours on your Finder?

Thanks again for the help it's appreciated, I think I've now found the folder, though my Finder looks a litle different to the screenshot. I went through Devices>Macintosh HD>Library>Preferences, but can't find the file you mention. I jump alphabetically from com.apple.CoreRAIDServer.cfdb to com.apple.dockfixup.plist
So I'm assuming that file isn't there to delete, so any other thoughts?
That is the wrong Library. When you open Macintosh HD, is there a file titled USERS with this icon:
If you can find that file, proceed USERS> HOUSE ICON (YOUR NAME)>LIBRARY>PREFERENCES and that is where the plist should reside.

Sorry guys, I still can't find the file you mention.
If I go Macintosh HD>Users>House Icon(ME) all I get is my files, no Library option, so hence no preferences.
From the Finder, hold down the option key and select "Go" - you'll see your user Library listed. It's this Library folder that you're looking for...

Thanks Clinton, you had me thrown for a second with the option key, but I worked out you meant the "alt" key. I've now found and deleted the file and am going to reboot, fingers crossed it works.
