Can I load a branded version of Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro with Mac OS 10.7.5

Can I install a branded version of Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro with MAC OS 10.7.5. I am attempting to run a Windows version of Family Tree Maker with BootCamp. I am having too many problems with the Mac version of Family Tree Maker wity syncing.

I will be purchasing a version of windows and the branded full install cost less and was hoping it would work.
