Why wont my macbook pro show the user pictures

having recently upgraded my harddrive and migrated everything over, for some reason there are no default pictures showing when creating a new user. I have managed to located where the pictures are within the macintosh harddrive under Library/User Pictures but how can i get them to show under system preferences/users.......
