This is rediculous. If something is "all new" we should at least have the option of selecting more views; not fewer! My default view was always the song list sorted by date added (or play count) with the album art across the top. All this release did was give us more ways of viewing items in a redundant fashion. It seems like the player that used to be the leader is now striving to become like those that used to be inferior. I applaud iTunes efforts to become a lowly conformist.

Itunes 11.0.3 Problem Solved - Album Covers are back in under Songs View
Select Songs View
Go to View -> View Options
1) select Sort by Album
2) Check Show Artwork
3) Check Always Show
4) you can also fiddle with artwork size
Thank you Apple for fixing this... it makes using iTunes much easier (again).

Holy crap! Thanks for posting that, bejohnson. I confirmed that the View Options also allow you to show the Artwork when working with a playlist. This is fantastic. Thank you, Apple!
