This is the exact question that I came here to ask.

I want to be able to see any details that I choose while I'm in a particular album (Just I used to with iTunes 10), but now I can't.

For instance, since iTunes Match has a such a slap-hazard way of matching songs, it's helpful to see whether the track I'm listening to is a CD Rip, an MP3 or an AAC file, now the only way to see these details it to leave the album and go to the song view.

I'm sorely missing the Album List view. I found it especially useful for managing Playlists. The album art separated the albums visually to make it much faster to navigate. Definitely much more visually appealing than endless columns of bland text. Why on earth did they choose to remove so much functionality? Out of the 10 or so tasks I do every day with iTunes, 9 of them are more cumbersome and 1 of them is better. Out of those 9, losing this view entirely is the most painful.

This is what I want it to look like in EvilGnome's post. Is there a way?

Ignatia: Putting it on Songs tab then clicking on "Album" doesnt work as theres no resulting window that appears with album art and tracks after clicking on the Songs tab....its just a long list of track titles.

Basically i want the songs in text format but seperated by the album art to the left. like in EvilGnome's picture - not just a long list making it hard to figure out. Why Apple would even remove this option god knows....

Don't fix something that ain't broke.

Currently it looks like this using the songs tab in iTunes 11....no album art anymore 😟

The real beauty of the album list view was that it could be used with a playlist without affecting the sort order. Whith a playlist full of albums, you could see the tracks of each album clustered together next to an image of the album art. That made it visually appealing and provided far more information more quickly to the user than a long list of bland text.

Having the album art in the list view has been extremly helpful for me, I want it back. Among other reasons (sited in other posts) it rapidly identifies albums which iTunes should have identified as a compilation but didn't on import - so that it can be fixed it after import.

Apple - Please bring back the Album/List View with artwork- I never used any other view and what you have now is considerably less functional than before.

Apple, PLEASE TELL ME WHY!!

Album list view is THE function I'm using since it came to iTunes and it is really the only way that works (for me).

Now I will just stay on 10.7, iTunes 11 only on a testMac here. I just totally loose control in my library if I'm upgrading, so I don't.

If Steve Jobs would be still there he would personally just fire the whole iTunes-team, also because Cover Flow is gone.

PUT IT BACK, PLEASE!!😟
