What about importing pictures from an iphone 4S to PC using Windows 8?

This is how I did it for an iPhone 4:

Here is what I did, and it should (I hope) apply to any device that you can connect to the computer via USB Cord:

1. Attach the iPhone with a USB cord.

2. Hold down the Windows key and press the "E" key. This should launch a box entitled "Computer," on the left side of that box you should see a column of items you should see a list of items including Favorites, Libraries, and then Computer. In the Computer group you should see your device listed. In our case it was "Deborah's iPhone."

3. Click on the device. Over on the right there will be something that represents what's on the phone, in our case it says Internal Storage

4. Double click the Internal Storage. It will change to DCIM and tell you it's a file folder. Double click that, and it will change to something like 823WGTMA, A file folder.

5. Double click that! you should then see Thumbnails of all the photos on the iPhone.

6. Near the upper right corner of the box, you will see something that says Select All. Click that, and all the thumbnails will be highlighted.

7. Go back to the row where you found Select All, and click Copy To, and go down the list to Pictures, and click that.

8. Your photos should be importing at this point.
