my home button came unattached?

I was trying to get dirt off the sides of my home button by gently tilting it to the side with my finger when it just popped right off. The button still works and everything, it just falls off sometimes. I want to permantly reattach it because it's really annoying to have to deal with a home button constantly falling off, but I don't want to damage my phone with glue or tape. Any idea what I could use to reattch it?

The iPhone 4S as with all iPhones has two small tabs which fit under the front glass which keep it in place. Obviously you have broken these. The true repair is very difficult, first you need a new Home Button, then you need to take apart your whole iPhone, take off the front screen assembly, remove the Home Button Tape Gasket, put your new Home Button in place and then put the whole iPhone back together again. A quick fix that should work is to get a small piece of high quality double sided tape, place on center back of your Home Button, and then put the Home Button back into place. Done.
