Apple TV 5.1.1 'Not Successful' via Ethernet

Tried 3 times to run the update my ATV3 via wired ethernet, all "Not Successful". I disconnected network cable and configured the Apple TV to connect to the network via WiFi, and it worked first time. Then plugged back the ethernet cable and it works fine again via wired.

This happen to anyone else?

Sure hope I don't have to disconnect the wired network whenever I want to update...

Same challenge. Worked via Wi-Fi for me but not Ethernet. It seems logical that if one of the things this update is to address is Ethernet stability, then the update must first be installed via Wi-Fi before the enhanced stability can work - HOWEVER that should have been mentioned in the download instructions so we geeks/nerds don't have to figure it out for the community. Oh well, it now works...

Thanks Daniel.

Exact same problem here with AppleTV mode MD199X/A on Gigabit ethernet tyrying to upgrade to 5.1.1 (5433)

AppleTV was constatly failing ( attempted 8 times) at the end of step 1.

Tried power of and resettign without success.

Unplugged ethernet and connected to Wifi and was upgraded first attempt.

Should have realised this myself as the other two units that I have upgraded on first attempt as they are constantly running on WIFI

Thanks again!
