In iTunes 10, I sorted everything by artist, by album, by year (release date). I can't do that in iTunes 11 or I can't figure out how to do it. Grrrrrrrr Why do they break things?

Very simply (I just figured it out with a little help, so I'll pass it on to you)...Simply go to the VIEW option on the menu bar (show Menu Bar if not showing from upper left corner) and select VIEW OPTIONS and then select Artist in the 1st box, and YEAR in the 2nd. That will do it! Easy enough, new iTunes 11 is fantastic.

That doesn't work. Checking those boxes just determines the columns that will appear. The sort order is determined by the pop up at the top. And with that you choose only a single criteria for sorting.
Okay, here's the deal. Go to View/View Options... Then choose sort by year. Yes, it's counter-intuitive. It will still keep artists together and then within artists sort by year. So apparently, it always sorts by artist first and then by whatever criteria the user chooses via View/View Options.../Sort by:
That's how it works in Playlist view. Don't know about the others. Every view behaves differently. So bad. Maybe I'll only use playlist view.
I've answered my own question and figured out what I can and cannot do in iTunes 11. See: http://abadeo.com/iTunes
Click on Music, then Album. Then go to Viewin menu bar, choose View Options. Choose Title, and that will sort the albums by title instead of by artist or other criteria.
If you can show list mode, then clicking on any header will sort by that. Click again to sort by ascending or descending.
Still can't see how to sort by album artist then year (chronologial order) in a list view???
In the SONGS pane, if you repeatedly click on the Album column header, you rotate thru the choices of Album/Album-by-Artist/Album-by-Artist-by-Year

I was wondering: Is there a way in iTunes (on the current 11.1.5) in artist view to sort by newest albums first? When you go to music -> artists, you see all the records in chromological order - but the oldest first. Can you revert that?
