2. Correct. First turn of the mouse, then the computer. This is because manipulating the mouse wakes up any sleeping Mac.

Nov 29, 2012 8:19 PM in response to Stoked1964by Kappy,No, what I said was it doesn't matter whether you put it to sleep or shut it down. It wakes up faster than it boots up, so putting it to sleep just means it will be ready to use quicker.
If you don't want the movement of the mouse to wake up the computer then don't touch the mouse after you put the computer to sleep. Use the keyboard shortcut to put it to sleep - COMMAND-OPTION-EJECT.
