What are your thoughts on the New iTunes 11?

jman57, this thread is about iTunes 11 on a Mac (released in 2012). Your issue is with iOS 11 which was released 5 years later.

Apparently apps no longer count on itunes! This is a lousy interface and most annoying! I have been trying to figure out how to get to the screens to move my apps around I found it once lost it and have never found it again! That was 2 hours ago thank goodness I'm retired and have nothing better to do!

I asked to downgrade to last 10.x IOS and was told this was not possible by various Apple techs. IOS 11 is a joke that caused me to lose important data, lose availability of previously working (paid for) Apps and has caused my iPhone 6s to slow down greatly!

I'd recommend to all that you perform a (cable connected) full back up (using PC or Mac) iTunes before you consider upgrading to IOS 11. Both my iPhone 6s and iPad Pro were set up to automatically back up on wifi to iCloud. After these problems, was not happy to find that the last iCloud backup was performed 3 months ago. I spend 90% of my time in a wifi environment only to have Apple not be able to tell me why there were no backups performed for the previous 3 months. Only way one can confirm backups is to go to iCloud and manually confirm whethe ror not back ups are being performed as advertised. Little more need be said why Apple and iCloud are on my S__t list right now. Lost a lot of important data even though I pay for extra backup storage space on iCloud.

I think its garbage, thank god I have two Macs, a PowerBook G4 and MacBook Pro, currently on my PowerBook G4 running the last good copy of iTunes (10.6.3) enjoying Cover Flow and Album Artwork. 😉

As with any major update there is a learning curve.

After about an hour of pullng out hair I don't have anymore I have found most of the features important to me.

Find dups is gone but there is a script from 'Dougs Scripts' that will likely fill the gap.

With color back in the side bar I am happier with the flavor of the view.

Overall I give is a A- for now.

Big Failure? No Cover Flow, are you kidding? Boy I'm glad I didn't update! Sometimes when the best gets the best they should leave things as they are but no, always trying to prove better and then no where to go but backwards! 😁

Everything was running and looking perfect. I was even able to set my background to Black. Now it looks all washed out and unintuitive. What is with these people that think they have to redesign everything!!! Steve is gone, and there is no one to point their finger and say, "That's awful, back to the drawing board, and bring me something that works!!"

was my favorite way to play music, flip threw my albuns the same way I flip there LP's abd then CD's

WHAT are you people thinking, stock will drop 10% more after this.

Is just an upgrade to take you faster to the store, the icloud could have been updated without any dumb changes

what was more natural that look for music with cover flow, the same way you look for LP in a stOre or CD at home. Steve Jobs shown that in a presentation !!!! IF I RECALL.

iTunes 11 blows big time!

If they don't even get some basic navigation features right (that were all there before!), how are they supposed to manage some of the more tricky things in their operations?

Today has been another red flag for me. Time to short some more Apple stock...

The first attempt at searching for a song in my library was a TERRIBLE experience. I'll have to give it another whirl tomorrow and hope is not as bad as it seemed at first.
