Q: What are your thoughts on the New iTunes 11?

same here. iTunes 11 is a nightmare...

I have an iPad & I do not sync between my computer & it. Way too much music. No need to carry it around. So, no, I haven't had the problem you describe.

I usually love the all the apple products when they come out, but this one has made my life harder.  Very un-apple like.  This download from the cloud stuff is really annoying.  (and it makes $#(#*& suggestions.)  I consider myself, at worst, having average computer skills.  This is harder to use.  I agree wih Bloodwing.  I can't see Steve Jobs designing this.  It reminds me of a Mircosoft product.  If I have to invest time in figuring it out, it *****.  That's why I bought apple products inthe firstplace.  I wish I could uninstal it.

Far be it from me to demonize Apple—and usually, I've enjoyed their updates; nor is iTunes 11 unusable to me. But I also can't go so far as to say, "Right or wrong, my Apple" just on principle. The mark of a solid friendship is after all the ability to criticize when something's not right for you.

I don't like that I can't scroll through the artists by tiles, instead I have a sidebar that has artists in it.  I used to be able to set album cover art to display on the artist link, now I can't select any cover art that I want as my main art for each artist. 

I think the Up Next feature is real cool. 

I have problems streaming from iTunes 11 to ATV 3 with the updates to both of them.  I have to leave my hard drive on and never let it sleep if I want to stream.  Didn't have to do that with iTunes 10. 

I'm going to try to adjust, but I'm missing features that I really liked with iTunes 10.  I never used Cover Flow, but I can see where people enjoyed it and now they can't use it. 

All in All, I hope that some of these issues are addressed with the first update that shouldn't be but a week or two away. 

The iTunes 11 search function is essentially unusable for me--it hangs my iTunes for any text string starting with anything but 'q' or 'z.'

I do have a large library (59K 'songs'--a lot of classical), but the prev. version's search function was fast & immediately responsive. 

I was OK with being 'barred' from iCloud due to the size of my library, but without a working search function, I can't even use the application on my computer.

Redesign has also made it more difficult to do metadata maintenance, not less.

Good lord, I hate the new iTunes. I used to be a SoundJam MP user prior to Apple buying it to turn it into iTunes. I can't imagine anything worse that they could have done to iTunes. Thank goodness I only installed it on my new iMac. Won't happen again.

In the search field, there is a little triangle on the left.  Click on this to reveal a drop-down menu.  Uncheck "search entire library." This restores a usable search facility.

How can I activate the voting system for the remote app in itunes 11, like iTunes DJ used to do? That's the feature that I miss the most!!!
