Q: What are your thoughts on the New iTunes 11?

I for one am not very impressed! You lose cover flow, and the ability to resize your album art. Unlike previous versions where everything is not in just one area now your searching over the whole itunes for what you need to do. Its cluttered and instead of just editing one album your stuck at looking at all the other distractions instead of what your trying to edit. What are all of your thoughts on this new itunes?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion, i7 16gb ram

    Bad.

    Cover art pasting is gone, previous/next in the tagging 'windows' is gone...

    Organizing your library the way you want to has simply been made more difficult.

    I want these functionalities back !!!!

    Just wanted to give my 2cents.

    I was using iTune DJ mainly with a "Rate Me" playlist that included all my new songs that have not yet been rated.

    I finally found a way to use it with the "Play Next" -

    First I needed to change my smart playlist to be generated randomly so that the songs will be random in the "Play Next" and then to simply add them to play next.

    Too bad you cant rate from the iPhone - but at least it still work from the iPad.

    Guess Apple has a lot to work on this version...

    Everyone go to the Apple feedback page and submit your requests for changes to iTunes 11. There is no option for anything newer than 10.6.3, but it's not required to select what version you are using. Just put "iTunes 11" in whatever your Subject line will be.

    Be objective and logical about why you want these features back in. Apple reps will likely not read your email if it is a rant. Don't swear or threaten, please! That will probably flag the eamil and be deleted without being read.

    Make your stand and let them know how closely iTunes is tied to all of Apple's other products. It might open their eyes some more if they realize that iTunes 11 might cause drops in sales. I know that sounds melodramatic, but I'm just sayin'. You get the idea.

    Worst version ever! Hey, Apple - what are you doning? This is not the first no-go within months (remember maps).

    Are you still developing things for users? Or for marketing? Is there any usability check? Coverflow is one of THE USPs of this media player, easy navigation, hide what you dont need,... all gone! But UI bugs included.

    Focus at Cloud / Store, well... who ever it needs, fine! For all who just want to use it as it is, as a media player, will be even more painfull penetrated with all this stuff. The level of selling penetration was fine at version 10, version 11 is only missing permanent advertising banners while playing music.

    Please, please, Apple, you need iTunes 12 very urgent. (not we as users, we may use other products)

    Meenwhile we restore from backups, hack around in Terminal, whatever. Or give other players a chance.

    Sorry that must have been an old link -- they don't exactly make it an obvious link do they? Try this one:

    I missed the iTunes DJ on the new version. Another thing is that I can't add podcasts to the "Up Next" list as I used to do with the DJ.

    I totally agree and I also believe the next iOS (6.1) will only sync with itunes 11. Moreover, I fear  Mountain Lion will my last OSX because it will certainly come with iTumes 11x (expect an even worse monstrocity). Since iTunes together with Safari and Mail are, by far, the applications I use the most (and on a daily basis) I wil have to live without iTunes, Which I cannot do. I am upset beyond words.

    "So, the executive that was in charge of Apple Maps is now in charge of iTunes?  This is awful, I hope there is an easy way to get back to the previous version of iTunes (before they screwed up the UI) and never update iTunes again."

    It's worse than that. You'll find out when the time comes to uppgrade to the next OSX.

    Someone's probably already mentioned that you can no longer sort your search results in the store by the different colums (or did they move it?).

    You USED to be able to click the column heading and sort by that column either ascending or descending.  I tried to find a song this morning and got 50 results back.  Couldn't find what I was looking for.

    Did they move that functionality?

    Oh yes, and feedback sent.

    "The new search function doesn't search connected devices.  Since I manually manage my iPod, and store next to nothing in my iTunes library, this renders the search function useless to me."

    EXACTLY one of the 3 main reasons I find the iTunes 11 mesh so offensive.

    What other music library management and player apps are out there for the Mac?  I would love to have an alternative.

    Any recommendations?  I saved the link to back down iTunes, but for now I'm looking for alternatives.

    Nothing short of a public apology from Tim Cook will make me feel better after spending hours trying to get back to version 10.

    From reading all the various posts, one of my biggest fears

    is what is going to happen with all my ALAC CD rips if

    I upgrade and what will happen when I plug my iPhone

    in for the first time after the update.

    Perhaps it is best just to stay with iTunes 10.7.  It works!

    It manages my iPhone without issue!  It also plays back

    all my gapless albums (some Pink Floyd, Moody Blues, and

    others) without issue!  It also lets you have multiple windows for

    managing music, apps, and iTunes Store! Etc!  Etc!  Etc!

    iTunes11 is the worst version ever (and I use iTunes since this application was born in 2001 ).

    The reasons for my opinion are:

    1. there is no longer the "Cover Flow" ;
    2. the absence of the voice that allowed the removal of duplicates ;
    3. you can not open multiple windows;
    4. it does not allow neither to see nor to update the covers in songs display

    and last but not least: Apple does not allow the downgrade to the iTunes 10.7, which I would very gladly
