Dec 21, 2012 7:22 PM in response to Porfby Swaza, for me , the iTunes is unnecessarily complicated, cluttered and time confusing. Why fix/alter what ain't broke? Please Apple , maintain this motto : KISS = Keep it Simple Stupid

Dec 21, 2012 8:09 PM in response to Porfby radfx,Having used it for awhile and trying to get used to the new methods, I still dislike it intensely. Upgrades in software should be about making things easier... not obfuscation. I can't see any improvement other than creating more frustration. Controls such as random play, repeat once, repeat all having seemingly vanished. Nothing seems intuitive... unlike what Apple is usually very good at. Give us a meaningful update very soon Apple!

Dec 22, 2012 2:01 PM in response to Porfby Chris3500,I really didnt have a big problem with it until today. Before, there were little things about it that ****** me off, but I could deal with them, but today was just too rediculous, so I wanna complain to lol
Basically, it took me about 2 F***ING HOURS to add a song to my library and my ipod touch that I got from soundcloud because of that stupid itunes match thing. If thats not rediculous, i dont know what is... I finally figured out how to turn it off, but I never had any problems like this with the older versions of itunes, ever, point blank period. Now this new itunes comes around and i start having problems like this. So until they fix all the bs that comes with the new itunes, im going back to 10.7. Dont fix what aint already broken...

So maybe there are advantages to having a library too big for that iCloud Match thing. The ironic thing is that iTunes 11 was intended specifically to address problems users were having with iCloud. As with all complicated software (not just Apple), the big new releases have bugs. The first point updates fixes the worst bugs and creates at least one new one. At about the second or third point update, the app becomes pretty solid.
You should report your problem to Apple feedback -- and also to Soundcloud.

Dec 22, 2012 3:30 PM in response to Porfby DocNagel,Hideous. All that made iTunes work well with mp3s, made the library easily searchable, made it easy to make playlists, burn cds -- gone. Is there some planet in **** in which it makes sense to remove these features? Maybe you want to add features that work well with cloud-stored media. Okay, fine. Why do so at the cost of the features that work well with downloaded media?

I don't want to be confrontational, as you probably have a different "workflow" than me, but I honestly don't understand your complaints. Please elaborate. The Search feature in the upper right corner is still as good as it was previously -- as long as you deselect "Search Entire Library." Apple added an option that many people don't like, but others do. If you don't like it, just turn it off. As far as making Playlists and burning CDs, iTunes 11 lets me do those things exactly the same way I did them before -- as long as the Sidebar is visible. Both those things are a one-time "check off" to make iTunes 11 pretty much like 10.7. On the other hand, there is no preference for Cover Flow, sadly.

Dec 22, 2012 4:55 PM in response to Mark Blockby DocNagel,Search switches to Album View, which is annoying and reduces the usability of the search. I want it to give me a list view of relevant items, not a big screen full of album covers. New Playlist From Selection requires the use of a fairly slow pull-down menu from the "File" menu (I suppose I'll have to memorize the keyboard command, instead) - so, no, that's not the same. Also, as has been mentioned, a playlist has to be specifically formed before burning a CD now.

Doc, when I do a search in Songs view, it shows me the results in Songs view. It doesn't switch to Album view. Don't know why it does that on your system. (I'm assuming you've installed the 11.0.1 update.) As to making new Playlists, I've always selected the songs, then either hit shift-command-n or right-clicked to choose New Playlist. However, iTunes 11 does allow you to click and drag songs to the grey PLAYLISTS heading in the Sidebar. What way is missing for you? Seems to have the same functionality for me. As far as burning audio CDs from within iTunes (not that I do it any more), a Playlist has always been necessary, AFAIK. Is that not the case? I just checked my iTunes "Bible," the Take Control e-book for iTunes 10, and it says a Playlist must be created. How were you doing it.

Dec 27, 2012 3:08 PM in response to Porfby Jan-Willem Arnold,I have used iTunes since 2004. This release is horrible.
- I don't want to see a button go to store in every dialog.
- If you have music that is not in Gracenote/ iTunes store and you dare to sort your library, you are going to regret it deeply
- while playing an album there seems no way to go the tracks
- sharing a cdrom drive doesn't work.
- I hate it to be confronted with legal rights issues for music I legally bought.
I'll look for an alternative music player.
