Why did Apple discontinue the iTunes DJ? I get that there is a new Plays Next feature which is similar, but to the extent its not, why not let us have the iTunes DJ as well?

iTunes DJ was the feature I liked best...not all change is good...please bing it back!
First thing I noticed was that this feature was missing. I am sorely disappointed. I'd like to go back to the previous version.
Apple, please listen to your users!
If you want Apple to listen, the only way is to let them know through their feedback form. Up Next is in no way, shape or form a replacement for iTunes DJ.
"UP NEXT" is the next generation of itunes DJ.
Drag and drop your songs you want played, they will be played for you.
If UP NEXT' is the next generation of ITUNES DJ why then is it not a click and play option on the side bar as in itunes DJ.
Are you serious? 'Up next' is nothing like the DJ function. Indeed is there any difference between Up Next and just running your music of your own custom list where you add in the next tracks you want. Nope, not really.
Total waste of an idea. You could already run an "up next' type set up in V10, all they have done is put it in a skirt and told us it is an improvement, whilst removing a feature that was actually useful and functional.
Absolute rubbish Apple. You really have blown it with this release.

How do you get back to version 10?
The only way I have found to get UP NEXT to be anything like iTunes DJ is to drag the whole library into UP Next and use the control menu for shuffle. Even so it is a pale shade of iTunes DJ as a playlist function.
Until they add the iTunes DJ feature back, here is a *temporary* solution:

At the very least Apple, please please please allow us to see all the upcoming songs in UpNext and change the order by dragging them around like we used to in iTunes DJ. I agree with the others -- iTunes DJ was the best feature of iTunes, I used it every day, and am well POed that it's gone.
I tried this and my list doesn't populate with any songs. I'll keep attempting to make this work. Seems like a tolerable solution

I've reinstalled the OS on my Mac, it gave me iTunes 10.6. Restored other parts with the time machine. And DID NOT upgraded iTunes to version 11.
