I haven't bought it, yet. I just bought a new Nikon D7000 and some really cool lenses - the 85mm macro, the 10.5mm fisheye, and the 17-55 f/2.8 -- all of which I researched carefully(which is why I bought the Nikon 85mm over the 105mm). I don't know anything about digital photography, but I do like looking at photo's of insects (I'm a fly fisherman) , trout and Steelhead flies, flowers (I'm a romantic), and etc. I have no interest whatsoever in portraits, old buildings, landscape, or nature (except for trout streams and meadows around them). Eventually, I'd even like to take photo's of really small things under a microscope (I own a Zeiss Standard 14 with the phase contrast setup (it has a binocular head, though, but I do see a Nikon adaptor for the binocular head, so that should work, too.....) I figure a "cool" new hobby would be to take those photographs myself. So, and I haven't even unboxed the new camera and lens, yet, I've been looking at various photo editing software packages and none of them, stock, does the sort of things I need to do. If I buy Photoshop, I suspect I am throwing money away, because it doesn't handle fisheye correction without some expensive plug ins, Aperture doesn't support layering and focus stacking, but Capture NX2 seems to do them all and quite well. So, I looked at the most recent version and ran into a flurry of complains by Mac users that it doesn't work with Mountain Lion....something Nikon and Apple were/are working to correct. So, before plunking down my $170 for Capture NX, I wanted to be sure it wold work for me.

I'm a pretty dedicated Apple guy - god only knows, I own enough of them - so I am looking for a solution. If there are any MAC users here, who also like blowing the family fortune on expensive cameras and lens, who might want to discuss photo editing software, this would be a good beginning to a entire forum, here, on Mac's and photography. In the meantime, has the Mountain Lions Capture NX2 problem been fixed? Or, am I wrong in even thinking about that product.
