White font in Preview App

Hi!

I've got a problem with an improper appearance of some pdfs. The problem demonstrates itself by disappearance of text as you can see in the following picture:

whereas it should be correctly displayed as:

Same file works fine on another Mac and the problem has the same symptoms as described here:

but their solution doesn't work in my case. The issue appears to be system-wide, because when I create a new user it still persists.

I have tried deleting Preview App preferences from my Home folder (I don't know where the system-wide prefs are located) and clearing a font cache by sudo atsutil databases -remove

Both with no effect.

I'd be really thankful for any help, because I'm keeping Adobe Acrobat just because of this issue.
