Trying to restore ipad but keep getting message the ipaf could not be restoted. the device can not be found

1) Make sure you are running the latest version of itunes.
2) Make sure you have no pending software updates on your computer.
3) Make sure you are running on a usb 2.0 port.
If all else fails, you can always restore on another computer with itunes.

We have the same problem with an ipad3 which could not install ios7 properly. It came up with a sign saying plug your ipad into iTunes, so we did and it started 'Extracting Software'. Once it finished it said 'The iPad "iPad" could not be restored. The device cannot be found'...

I'm also unable to restore my ipad after 'updating' from 5.1 to 7. NO computer will recognize it, nor will it restore. I'm ******...yet again...by apple.
