iTunes and iPhoto

Hi All,

MacMini 10.8.2 iPhoto 9.4.2, iTunes 11

When uploading to either iPhone or ipad. Not all the photos come in as requested.

All iPhoto libraries are grayed out (no choice avaiable)

Checked iPhoto Library Manager, No "&" in library.

Thought upgrading to iPhoto 11 would aleviate the problem.

I know many people have this problem.

Any help would be accepted.

OT,

I do not have an iCloud account set up.

1 - I don’t remember having the same problem on the previous Macmini.

It mainly happened when I purchased my new Macmini 2012, with the new OS Mountain Lion v10.8 and new iPhoto 11 v9.4.2

Using Setup assistant to move everything over from older Macmini running Snow Leopard v10.6.8 older iPhoto was v 8.6.

2 - When uploading to either iPhone or ipad. Not all the photos come in as requested.

In iTunes, when asked to request other libraries.

All iPhoto libraries are grayed out (no choice avaiable)

Checked iPhoto Library Manager, No "&" in library.

3 - When in iPhoto, everything works OK. When uploading from iTunes NG.

In case it's a permissions issue with some of the photos make a temporary, backup copy of the library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and try the following:

1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.

User uploaded file

2 - Since only one option can be run at a time start with #1 followed by #3 and #4 as needed.

Hi Again,

Did that, with no change.

Went back to my previous MacMini (2009) running SL 10.6.8

Then to my iPhoto v8.6 and iTunes 10 v10.7

In iPhoto - All the photos are there and the albums have the correct amount of photos in them.

When updaing in iTunes, the albums are short on their amount of photos.

Tried updating all photos and the specified albums, still no go.

Short photos.

Sample - in iPhoto an album had 46 photos

in iTunes only 7 in same album.

So I think you were right in the beginning - This has been happening for a while, not just on the new MacMini and upgraded software.

Thanks for your input,

JRC

Hi Back Again,

I have done some testing and maybe you can answer a question.

In my iPhotos Library I have many different photos and types. (old cameras, including some Polaroids)

In my testing I find iTunes only brings in or recognizes the JPEG's from iPhoto library.

That looks like the reason I do not get all my photos into my iPhone.

Is this for real and do I have to covert all my photos to JPEG?

Thanks for your help,

Joe
