I am getting a dialogue box on my mac book and mac mini sayinf to clean my mac.  Having just been phished I am suspicious of all pop-ups.  Is this a mac product or srevice or it is somethig else?

It is probably one of the WORST Apps for Macs. Avoid it like the Plague.

As far as I know, CleanMyMac from MacPaw (if you're both talking about this piece of software) never shows such dialogue boxes or any other pop-ups. It doesn't even have a daemon enabled unless you choose the "Monitor my Trash" option in the preferences.

If you see annoying dialogue boxes, it is most probably the result of you being phished. Also, I've heard there was a rogue Mac app called Mac Guard or Mac Keeper doing the same stuff you described above. Maybe this is a product you are talking about?

You will see all kinds of ads for "utilities." Essentially they are all worthless, at best. A Mac doesn't need to be "cleaned."

What you are suffering from it some of the underhanded advertised techniques based on FUD used by some software vendors to scare unknowing users in to buying their worthless junk.

I have GlimmerBlocker installed on my Mac and it reduce their crud to a bareable level like once a month for me with my currect settings.
