ipad disabled wont accept passcode

ipad is locked thought it was stolen then it was returned ipad was locked while missing, passcode will not restart with the passcode used to lock

iPad, iOS 5.1.1

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your apps and other media. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.

Make sure that you pay attention to the section at the very of the article that talks about having never synced your iPad with iTunes. You may need have to restore the iPad that way.
