I have tried everything including deleting my account and re-adding it. Since yesterday, I am unable to send or receive messages from my yahoo account only when on the iPhone. When I deleted the account it I received a message stating that I could "save" the account but would not be able to send/recieve from it. What is going on with Yahoo!:iPhone?????????? I REALLY need this working!

Did you delete the account completely or just save and reactivate it? If you deleted and reinstalled, did you use the built in Yahoo template? What error message, if any, do you get when sending?
I deleted the account completely from my phone. One error stated "The connection to the server 'apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com' on port 993 timed out." Another was about how I could save the account but not send or receive from it currently. Don't remember the exact workding.
Since at least yesterday, people have not been receiving messages I sent from that account although they are not in my "outbox". They also do not show in my sent mail although it seemd like they went out.
Where are you located?, Is this happening using WiFi, cell data network, or both?
both 3G (Verizon) and Wii-fi. I am located in Elmhurst, IL 60126
my gmail works fine. My husband is having the same issues and only for his yahoo. His work email is fine and so is his gmail. I think there must be something gong on with yahoo and iphones.

Yup, this is a Yahoo issue. Contact them. What makes you think it involves only iPhones?
everyone I know with iPhones and Yahoo! mail is having this problem. Then again almost everyone I know has an iPhone....

Did you ever get this resolved? My iPhone 5 worked fine with my yahoo mail until last week, when the same problem cropped up, meaning I no longer can send or receive my yahoo mail from my iPhone. I've tried everything they recommend -- powering down and then trying; deleting the account, powering down, and then powering up and re-adding the account. I just keep getting the error message. Obviously, the iPhone is not letting me put in my yahoo e-mail password.
Yahoo's servers are notoriously bad. The problem is with Yahoo. Not your phone.
The problem may or may not be yahoo, but it could not be yahoo's servers; otherwise I would not be accessing my yahoo mail from my computer, which I am doing without trouble. The problem can only be that either iPhone is not sending, or yahoo mail is not accepting, my yahoo mail password.
Yahoo has hundreds of mail servers. Trust me on this. The problem is Yahoo. Just because you can acces it from a web browser or in a client on your PC does not mean that you're hitting the same server you do with the phone.
Your phone doesn't care what your password is. If it's being rejected, it's being rejected by the server you happen to be communicating with.
All you can do is try removing and re-adding the account and waiting until it clears up.
While you wait, set up a free gmail or iCloud e-mail account.
Yahoo Mail is not "playing nice" with my iPhone 4S.
