The update deleted my whole librery. all my apps, music, books, just gone.

now i just rebooted my pc to get back some of my files but itunes worked even slower than before.

i reïnstalled itunes, getting an error which makes adding files to itunes impossible. so i searched the whole net to find an answere which took me 3 days. now i finally getting the stuff back to gather.

if i were apple, i would spend some of those billions to get all the bugs out of itunes

i love the iphone, but itunes just ROBBED 2 **** WEEKS OF MY LIFE

The best "solution" is to stay with version 9 or 10. If your hardware doesn't permit that then I'd recommend buying a different brand. No one should have to fuss and muss with this sort of thing these days. This isn't 2005 like when the first "multi-media" cell phones came into being.

My recommendation to Apple is to immediately re-release version 10 with only the necessary patches to be compatible with the latest versions of hardware. Then "think different" about the road ahead. Add only features that would be useful and don't break anything. Stop this senseless change for change's sake!

Never EVER EVER had I thought iTunes would become worse than the earlier versions of Windows Media Player. But it happened! Thus proving anything is indeed possible!

I'm not sure apple will be willing to do what it takes to restore missing itunes 10 functionality, let alone rush to fix serious problem such as those described by many such as pooched libraries and syncing issues.

It really would be a relief to see them kill off version 11, bring back version 10 and "upgrade" it to make use of the new features in 11 (version 11 icloud integration is the main thing I think should be brought into 10, perhaps only as an explicit "turn this feature on" option, but all that extra fluff like custom album cover art is eye candy that kills of UX consistency).

The fact that they don't simply upgrade the low level drivers to handle the new hardware, and force us to a FULL upgrade might be my biggest concern to date.

I have been chewing on the possibility of upgrading my phone from 3gs to 5, but the risk of being forced to version 11 is pretty much killing that plan and I'll stick to my separate ipod touch as a dual device in my pocket for now.

I'm still running itunes version 10.7 and proud of it too. It's stable, does what I want and going to 11 would mean losing some features I rely on in version 10.

The sad truth is, nothing else out there does what I have come to rely on, but if 10.7 goes extinct without that missing functionality, I'll probably switch to their competitors and spend a lot of my personal time customizing an open source music player like rhythmbox.... It might actually be a blessing in disguise if I do switch to something else... Someone told me the other day that the DAC on a sony walkman z is incredible with headphones compared to most of the other music players (such as the ipod touch), so I'm keeping an open mind for alternatives now.

You are not alone in hating iTunes 11.

I inadvertently "upgraded" last weekend, before I remembered my 17yr old daughter had advised against.  It is the worst thing I've seen since Microsoft introduced the Ribbon - unless of course you include iTunes "help" (someone at Apple appears not to have understood the definition of that word!).

A point 11 seems to miss completely is that a primary purpose of iTunes is to manage and organise your music library - not merely to look pretty and enable mindless jabbing on mobile device touch screens.  For organising my library, I used Song View grouped by album with album art visible and the genre/artist/album filters visible above.  All other views are pretty much frippery for occasional use.  The Song View has been totally trashed in iTunes 11.

I therefore wasted 2 hours of my Sunday afternoon working out how to "downgrade" to the far superior iTunes 10.7 - which I fortunately achieved without the disasters others report due to a very helpful video on YouTube.

When are Apple going to learn to be less arrogant and listen to what customers actually want?

If the essential features are not reinstated in iTunes 12, I shall be looking for alternatives ...

Awful. I don't make a habit of cursing at all. But this "new" itunes makes me want to spit a few obscenities. I would be fired if putting a product out that was so radical in change and cumbersome to use. Just plain awful. Oh did I mention it was updated by accident? Why would Apple do such a thing?

Simple question: please provide a definition for intuitive. What idiot group was part of your focus group that decided that I can't play music in the order I want... or at the least if I do, I have to jump through your stupid hoops.  You guys take yourself a little to serious.  Geniuses?  I think not.

Quite ridiculous this itunes nonsense. This pile of crud is one of the reasons I'll personally never own another Apple product, ever. Oh and when I purchased the thing the Apple genius who attended to the sale asked me in an typically arrogant manner whether I had yet upgraded my computers to Apple. Unbelievable. Apple, I say, is on its way down.

    Horrible Horrible Horrible.

I noticed that i was missing two songs from an album i purchased via iTunes , so when i got back hone this afternoon, i decided to add the two songs to via the computer. I tried downloading the songs via my iPod touch but the songs surprisingly did not register on my iTunes Purchased list. Odd??? So I get home, and EVERY TIME I plug my iPod Touch to my main computer, I lose a song and since I am stickler about changing the setting on my purchased music, the Purchased songs via the FN cloud is still registering as "NOT Downloaded" I have to constantly delete four or five different versions of the same song over and over again due to this error.  Now i know there is a place where you can stop the purchases from automatically downloading, but  with this poor version of iTunes, its extremely difficult looking for things that was once a click away that Apple has now found a way to send an EFF YOU to their loyal consumers.

There are many things wrong with this version of iTunes and like many here, if they want to continue to keep my business as a happy customer, Apple needs to start looking at what their competitors are doing that is far more pleasing and consumer friendly.

I currently have 7400+ songs on my iPod Touch and this morning while on my way to the doctor, i noticed i was missing a few songs, i plug my iPod to my computer and i had to re download iTunes for reasons unknown. Google's music media is looking better and better everyday. My next purchase will be a Android based phone if this issue is nit corrected.

Been trying to adjust to this new interface. It is not happening. I really miss the older version. Posted something on their disscusion page and they pulled it. ***. Been a Mac user for over ten years. If this is the direction they are going. Not sure that will continue. VERY SAD.

Well.. I always say that if one company doesn't listen and respond to their users' requests, there's always another company that will. Whoever that company may be, why not give them your business?
