I just clicked - silly me! Csound1 owns this forum and all of Apple! Yup I mean look at his/her statements:

"If you mean is Apple listening here on the user site, no."

    and

"don't tell the moderators what to do, they will ignore you."

and so many more absolute definitive statements. Not like:

"you shouldn't tell the moderators what to do, they will probaly ignore you.

No this person is 100% sure of the things they say...so can this forum really be impartial and open with such a person at the helm?

ahhh (s)he has a statue of itself and resorts to picking on typos...

    A) so lets see then your grammar: "I am perfectly happy with the way Apple does business than you."

    etc etc

    B) umm you say: "I use the library on 5 Macs, 2 iPhone/Pads, 2 Android phones and a Partridge in a Pear Tree"

    ??? Android phones...noooo not you!???

5 Mac's??? what about your post that says you use 3: "that's on 3 Macs"

and then someon easked you why you are posting on a Windows forum and you said you use it on PC's too...so where are the PC's you claim to use in this list??

Now see I never before resorted to nit-picking your posts...where you like CoverFlow and then suddenly you dont care for it etc etc...but here I am raising myself to your esteemed level of typo slaughter. Can you post a pic of that statue to save me the cost of doing one?

Oh and since you have 5 macs, 2 iPhones, 2 Droid phones and some mysterious PC's (oh and that partridge) you really must lead a very .... life...keep pushing away at those 20k+ browny points - gotta make up for it somewhere....

Oh no here comes the <Edited By Host> monmster again - maybe to ban me permanently this time!!!

The article may full of simple words. But it does convey the suckage that is iTunes 11. And that's the important point. It touches on the concept of feature creep and bloat, the typical stuff you know..

Software companies, Apple et' al, need to realize that software does indeed reach a point where it no longer needs to be meddled with. R&D needs to stop listening to the marketing flunkies telling them that something new and different needs to keep being done.

In an unofficial or official manner, I know that people from apple read through this from time to time, if just out of curiosity or random happenstance when gogle searching. It's inevitable. I wonder what they're thinking?

Yeah that's what I hate. If it ain't broke don't fix it. I don't mind new features being added but what I despise is losing stuff and existing features being broken by radical updates. My main gripe is losing cover flow. Why couldn't they just if left it. But they all seen to do it now. Microsoft are just as guilty with windows 8 and loss if start menu which irritates me. Apple with iTunes and the laughable ios6. They had the sweet spot with iTunes 10.7 and ios 5 but had to mess it up!

Well said. My personal main gripe is the loss of multiple windows (playlists) being open at the same time. Since I do a lot of different activities I've always liked to assemble playlists to match each occasion.

There are many other changes I disliked, too, but they are more than adequately described here in these 110 pages of hate.

In all fairness to Apple. I think the whole industry has gotten used to the idea that new features and changes is what sells a product. And that if a year goes by without something, anything, being different, sales will go down. This includes Microsoft, Adobe, and hp, and Sony, and 500 other big companies. Could be anyone!

A level of stupidness unlike what anyone has seen before is creeping into the organizations that have previosly produced stellar products.

And the area of aggregation of this dumbing down seems to be in cheap consumer products that encourage consumption of media. And in a broader sense, consumer electronics. Don't get me wrong, it's happening elsewhere, but not at the breakneck speed we see here.

(The one area that isn't stupid-laden is software for the aerospace industry. And that's a topic best suited for discussion in other forums.)

I invite the tech industry to wise up and reverse the trend of instant-on and instant-gratification media delivery, and in that process make software that we can once again love to use. Software that is so good that it makes you want to become an evangelist for that company!

Sounds like a reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail..

ARTHUR:  Go and tell your master that we have been charged by God

with a sacred quest.  If he will give us food and shelter for the

night he can join us in our quest for the Holy Grail.

GUARD:  Well, I'll ask him, but I don't think he'll be very keen...

Uh, he's already got one, you see?

      ARTHUR:  What?

GALAHAD:  He says they've already got one!

ARTHUR:  Are you sure he's got one?

GUARD:  Oh, yes, it's very nice-a [To Other Guards]  I told him we already got one.

      OTHER GUARDS: [Laughing]

Have you tried upgrading to version 10.7? I know it would be a serious pain to have to rebuild your library by re-importing all your media files, but that would be a worst case scenario if you don't have a version 10 backup anymore.

You MIGHT also be able wipe out your itunes library database (not the media files, just the *.itdb and xml files), let it create a new database (after re-installing version 10), then import from a backup of your version 11 'iTunes Music Library.xml'... If it works, it would not be ideal, but it might actually save you a whole lot of work.

For all the effort of having to rebuild your music DB, it might be worth it and then you can make sure you don't let it "upgrade" again.
