Thanks. I totally agree. My email was removed by my post, so I don't know how I'm going to get any help here. I need to figure out how to merge my itunes folders into one, so that when I rename, I won't keep getting the same .itl error. Right now, i can't use 11 or 10.7, because of this. If anyone can post some help here I would appreciate it. Now, I'm worried that I'm going to get Adam in trouble, just because he tried to help me.

I sent you an email off list, but I can repeat here. I am not sure where you are at in the process, but assuming you have now removed 11 and reinstalled 10 (either by downloading the .exe file or using a restore point).
Assuming this step worked well (it can take some time and will involve a reboot - be patient with your PC) you can try and open iTunes. You might get lucky and it (to quote Apple) "Just works", however If you have the same experience I had you are likely to get an "New Library Error" msgbox with just an OK button on it. You press ok and nothing happens. Not promising- but there is a fix.
Next step is to go to the control panel - programs (where you would if you wanted to manually uninstall a program) and find the entry for iTunes. Right mouse click on it and choose Repair.
Now Windows will go off an do it's thing - this took about 3 minutes for me.
Now you can open iTunes. You wil notice that all your music and lists are now gone, but don't panic. Close iTunes.
Go to the iTunes folder on your c drive and find > iTunes > Previous iTunes Libraries > ......
find the file "iTunes Library YYYY-MM-DD.itl" that has the latest date, copy it into your iTunes folder (so up one folder level) and rename it "iTunes Library.itl" (replacing the existing file - I usually rename it iTunes Library_OLD.itl)
Now restart iTunes and all your music and lists should be restored.
That is what worked for me. As always - approach with care. Your milage may vary.
Good luck - very happy to be rid of that buggy and ugly iTunes 11.
You only need choose the latest "iTunes Library YYYY-MM-DD.itl" file, there will usually be several or more of them, but you dont' need to merge them together. Just use the latest one. Hope that helps.

I've been sitting here for 3 hours trying to figure out if the reason I can't add the downloads for my Spanish class have to do with the new version of iTunes, or if I'm doing something wrong. I'd really like to be able to add my vocabulary to listen to in the car, but it's not working. I can't find anything, and Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave in disgust.

Upgraded to v11 and the sound is awful! Can't use iTunes as my media player anymore.
I won't mention the pathetic tablet like interface thats dumbed down the application. may be okay if you're using a tablet or touch screen computer, but if not, it stinks of designer self gratification and wee!

This is another great snafu by Apple! Why fix what isn't broken? I hate this version of iTunes and am thinking of doing away with all Apple product. As most people, I keep my library on an external harddrive because it is so vast. Not only does it not find my library, It won't load the songs when it does! Some songs are permently damaged! Do you know the fun of installing a CD library of about 3000 again?! There has been nothing positive said about this "APPLE". Bring back what worked fine and was more pleasing to the eye as well as less complicated! Just in time for the holidays, I am playing CD's again! Who from apple will file my CD library back in alphabetical/chronological order? There should be a suit filed with Apple on the behalf of all those affected with what keeps them going each day! Our music!

Just I gave a feeedback on iTunes Feedback, but I cannot select der Version 11. Is it a try to get no negative reflection for the new version?
I think to get an answer ist unlikely. Nevertheless I hope that one of the next updates will change to the old conveniences. So if many people says by an offically feedback that they don´t like Version 11, it´s more possible to reach our wishes.

I like when I see "update available." It means something new and better is coming my way! UNLESS ITS ITUNES 11! Seriously, I have warned everyone I know to steer clear of it. I rarely complain about updates but this is horrible.
I can say without hesitation - I HATE iTunes 11 and hate is a very strong word for me.
