I managed to get it to work. For some reason I had two directories for iTunes, so the library file I was replacing with a previous version wasn't the one the program was trying to open. Not quite sure how that happened, but oh well.
Thanks for the help everyone!

This thread is getting big. Please continue to provide Apple with feedbacks. It's probably the only way to get those people to listen... I've never been this mad before about Itunes update..

That makes two of us!! Never have I been cross with Apple...Apple of all companies that I always thought they could never get it worng...Maybe I just spoke too soon!!!! And I hope apple employees can see this 18pg'd thread!
If everyone says the same thing...we can't all be wrong at the same time! Apple has goofed and need to realise they have goofed!!! Let us expect an update to v11 reflecting all our complaints fully addressed!!!

I have actively started looking for alternative software for managing my music collection, one that will restore some of my favorite qualities such as the display of album art when I click on a track name.
Given that I have been actively avoiding iTunes, any music purchases I have considered have been outside of the iTunes store. How about the others of you: been purchasing much from the iTunes store, lately?

Rather than look fot alternatives to iTunes v11, i'ld suggest you just revert to v10.7. iTunes v10.7 still remains the No. 1 music application in the world. I dont think anyother application is so detailed in its dedication to music!

Not only do I HATE this version, but worse than how this works, iMatch has now converted over half my albums into seperate song alubms so that there is now no way to listen to an LP from songs 1--? Each song on the album is a seperate album (in no order)!
I have over 7K songs in my library and at this point their support is advising me there is no fix but to manually "Put them back together" myself. This means a
multitude of hours to get my library back, and I don't even know what I'm missing from what iMatch has left here.

my library took me over 10 years to build and I've been using Itunes to manage the library for about 5 or 6 years. The cover flow I use all the time.. finding duplicate songs.. basically all the features I used now are gone.
If anyone find a alternative program please let me know. I manage my library using Itunes and Winamp. Winamp has better live search function that I use to check before adding new stuffs to library. Itunes is what I use to play music... Now Itunes is like a piece of S&%T, sorry I'm really mad

Was it supposed to be easier to use - because it's not...
I used to be able to search songs and I'd know if I had 2 of the same (from downloading the single & album) but can't anymore.
And it keeps either deleting songs and telling me they've been retreived from iCloud, which I've NEVER HAD, or they keep reseting the 'Plays' on the songs.
*****. Apple - why??????????????????????????? Why not offer a test or something first...??????

Perhaps it's April Fools? I mean, this is the only logical explanation of this GOD AWFUL ITUNES. I mean really apple? WHY? I just spent 45 min. trying to create a new playlist for my IPOD and yet I'm still unsuccessful. I have always hated Itunes but this just puts it into a FAIL category.
Thank you for not making it robust, intuitive and user friendly.
I'll continue to spend a few more hours to "try" and learn this new BETA software you call a application.
