I recently paid £14 to increase the storage on my iPhone 3GS as I kept getting a message telling me i did not have enough storage space to update apps.
I still get the message and the only way to update my apps is to delete others!
Is this right? Have I wasted my money?

I'm curious, what wee they supposed to do to "increase the storage space"?
I thought that was what I was getting, but it seems not. I am referring to an increase in iCloud storage, so does that mean it makes no difference to the actual storage on my phone ?
Correct, you bought more space for icloud, to back up your data.
your phone is still an 8GB. either delete other apps, data or upgrade to a new phone with more GB.
