I restarted the computer after a problem in Word (it would not open a file).
After start up all data in entourage mail is gone. Account and all history!
This is a major disaster for me, no back ups available.
Any ideas how to restore??

It is probably just the identity file. Your data is still there, Entourage doesn't know where to find it. Unfortunately, Microsoft does its own thing regarding these preference files. You should ask your question in the Microsoft support forums.
Once you get this fixed, I strongly suggest back up software such as Time Machine and maybe new office software like iWork.
