how to join tracks in itunes 11? No more Advanced Menu!
Where is the join tracks control. Vital for classical music!

Woo-hoo! Thanks so much! Totally agree on the audiobooks - and why is "audiobook" not a category on Gracenote? 😁
I haven't been through every answer here but has anyone tried selecting all tracks in a playlist, right/control-clicking and selecting consolidate files? It says you can't undo, so maybe use duplicates of the originals, but would that join the tracks without having to burn to CD and then re-import as joined tracks? Since the files are all at different bit-rates I'd suspect going the burn CD and re-import route is best (or only). At about 15¢ per blank disc and the fun of listening to the mix on CD after re-importing it, I'm okay with that, but I'm wondering about what happens to the sound with all the extra converting.

Consolidating simply copies the files to the iTunes media folder selected in iTunes prefs > Advanced.
It does not join the tracks together.
The answer to the missing 'join tracks' command is here in these answers, but not clearly articulated. Now, to make 'join tracks' appear in the Option menu you make sure you highlight all the tracks by putting your mouse over the numbered, first column. E.g, click on the top tab of that column, then proceed as usual to click on '1' then Shift + the number of the last track. Presto, the Option menu now allows you to join them.

It was articulated very clearly in the 1st response over 2 years ago...
Thanks very much for this. Got me easily to the solution.
still not found the answer to the original question! am using iTunes 12.2.2.25 as of 8th Sept 2015 and there is NO join tracks options

except there is.
Sort on the first column with the numbers.
no, there isn't
I I have followed every direction on this topic, plus read various other sites giving answers to the same question and watched YouTube videos etc (and yes it really is simple to follow, if it works)
but still NO join tracks option for me!
HI,
You are sorting by name. It won't work unless you sort by first number column.

yes...sorry in that screenshot I have, but have sorted all culumns and tried but still nothing
That's why I hate updating software in the old days in Itunes you could join all tracks, this was available under that same option button. It has since disappeared and frankly calling the help desk is a waste as they are all kids down there. probably in diapers when this feature was available.
It was very handy when one was importing audio books from CDs. I would just join up the tracks into chapters.. Much easier to manage. Have 10 chapters instead of 200 individual unnamed tracks. Now I cant find that feature anywhere. What a bummer :-(
Just found out how to do it :-).
When you insert a new CD and you wish to join it as a long continuous file in one track select the Tracks then click on options. Join these tracks will finally appear. If nothing is selected you will not see this option appear.
Apparently you must first select the tracks you want to join. Which is pretty cool.
Hope this helps you.
