Help getting app from mac to iPhone please

A while ago I bought the Picframe app from the app store via my mac. However my iphone 3G didn't support it so I couldn't download it to my phone. I have just bought the iPhone 5 but can't seem to get the app onto the phone. It's not showing in itunes but it shows in applications on my computer. When I go to the app store on my phone it just shows the purchase price and seems to want me to buy it again. Would appreciate some advice please! (The phone has been fully synced with my itunes using the back up from my old phone)

Check Settimgs>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID. Is there the account that you use to buy this app?

You mean in Applications folder or in Apps Library in iTunes? If isn't in Apps Library drag it there from the folder. Then sync with iPhone.

I only have one Apple ID and one account.

It doesn't show in the apps library in itunes but show in the applications folder on my mac. Is it possible I downloaded a version that only works on the mac and not on the iPhone meaning I'll have to buy it again?

Did you tried to drag the app from folder to apps in iTunes?

Tried to drag it from applications folder to app section in itunes. Seemed to work (as didn't make an error message) but it hasn't appeared into the folder when I tried again this warning message appeared "A provisioning profile named “embedded.mobileprovision” already exists on this computer. Do you want to replace it?" when I click replace it still doesn't appear in itunes

If this app works on your Mac you can't install it in iDevice. You have to download from App Store and not Mac App Store. Of course you have to pay for this.

I could be wrong, but is it not two different platforms, therefore two different purchases required? One for OSX and one for IOS?

I had no idea that the Application Store (on iTunes & on one's computer at the bootom in your dock) were not related, and different. Spent so much time trying to figure out why some applications downloaded from my App Store on my iMac would not show up in my App Store on iTunes or my iPod.

This cleared it up completely! Thank you "cheonweb."
