Hi all, it would appear that I have forgotten the pass code for the restrictions area of my iphone 5.
Is there a way of resetting/obtaining it WITHOUT resorting to a system restore??

No there isn't. As a matter of fact, it requires you to restore as a new device, because the restriction passcode is in the backup. Make sure you have everything synced and backed up. Import your photos from the camera roll.
