iTunes 11 - sync Smart Playlist across devices

The syncing of Smart Playlist across devices stopped since the update to v11.

In the last version it was the default setting that anything I played on my iPhone was synced to my playlists of my Mac.

Is this feature gone or is there an option that I missed?
