Since the latest iTunes update, I cannot drag & drop new songs into my iPod. Why is this, and how do I fix it?

I am having the same problem, but with an iPod touch (I think the issue is related to an iTunes bug). My iPod touch is set to manually manage music. I'm trying to restore music to it lost from another iTunes bug. Please let me know if you find a fix.
Not only that, I now find I can't delete used podcasts either! *** is this? Is there any way to restore the previous interface?

You can enable many, but not all, of the interface elements from the previous iTunes by selecting the appropriate options in the View menu (such as Show Status Bar, Show Side Bar).
Drag and drop is working for me again today. My did-that-solve-it? solution: Disconnect iPod; Turn off iPod; Restart computer; Try again on the next day.
Me neither. Just updated itunes and cannot drag playlists or folders to iPod classic.
